For anyone keeping track; I heard Frank Haege on Reusse today and he said Ayrton Scott is trying to catch on with a pro team at some level.  He tried the NFL and CFL workouts had several offers for Europe but turned them down and at least for now it sounds like he is trying to land a spot on an Arena League team. My money says he will make the Arena League and then try to move up. Sonnenfeld is finishing up with his degree and will be a coach at Osseo this fall.

This is MIAC week on Reusse's show on 1500 with Fasching tomorrow night and Caruso the following night. Reusse is knowledgeable about the MIAC. He says he goes to 3 or 4 games per year and he is wondering how AUG will replace Scott and Sonnenefeld. Sounds like a young Auggie team this fall with plenty of starters graduating last year. :o

I just listened to Haege on Reusse's show.  Any idea on who these two potential QB transfers might be?  Sounds like things are still uncertain at this point, but should be interesting to see how things shake out.
I know of one who has committed to another school* but they are still trying to get him.  The other I am not sure.

Edit: * not a MIAC school.

Without your edit that post would have put the cats amongst the pigeons.  I was already guessing which school that was...

Anybody catch the F.A.M.I.L.Y patriarch on 1500 with Reusse this afternoon? I missed it today.
Listening to coach Fasching yesterday made me contemplate heading up to Collegeville for Tommie-Johnnie this year. The wife was easily convinced to look for a sitter and make it a tailgating party.

I listened to Don Caruso. He set the bar very high for UST by calling them a team that competes nationally every year. I like the swagger but actually winning a National Title would give him more credibility. Maybe this is the year. He had high praise for his offensive line and for Roberts. Just like all three MIAC coaches on 1500 so far this week, Caruso claims to have about 4 QB's that could start this fall!

He'd never say this, but it's pretty obvious it's Perra's job to lose.

If you are looking, you can find Reusse's interviews with the coaches here: http://www.1500espn.com/the-ride-with-reusse-ondemand/

Thanks for that link, TT.

I listened to Gary and four things stuck with me:

1. He's an enthusiastic booster of MIAC football. Proudly talked about the accomplishments of all the squads, big and small.

2. Gary is very gracious toward the accomplishments of Tommie football.  More than I could ever be.

3. Bungham will be on staff this year teaching the boys how to catch.

4. 200 (!!!) players showing up on August 13 or whatever day is first day of practice. That's one in seven Johnnies on the football team.

Spent today at SJU / CSB with my daughter, and two prospective Johnnies from CDH, for the Alum Campus Visit Day.  My takeaways are:

#1.  Top ten day in Collegeville / St. Joseph.  Lots of sun, not too warm and a cool breeze.  I didn't want to leave.

#2.  I know I'm biased but there is simply not a better college setting in the entire state of Minnesota.  Great people, great educators and great environment and facilities.

#3.  Speaking of facilities....the new turf and dome structure is coming along nicely.  Situated alongside one of the best soccer pitches' in the upper midwest and a top notch baseball complex, Johnnie athletics will be the new standard in MIAC sporting facilities.  In addition the new Learning Commons is also going to be a great addition to campus.

#4.  CSB is planning a $12 soccer, softball and athletic training facility that will be the envy and be unmatched in the MIAC.  St. Ben's has really stepped up their game.  It really is a beautiful campus.

#5.  Bo Did's still rocks a sub sandwich...the place is for sale BTW.

#6.  CSB / SJU is quite simply a genuine community.  Living in the city myself, each time I visit (3 times this summer), I have a greater appreciation for the place and pace of Collegeville and St. Joe...it really feels like my second home.

4.  200 might be too many...I get it that they are casting a wide net.  You can catch a lot of top notch fish that way...however you catch a lot of bottom feeders as well....developing...

I'm watching the Olympic opening ceremony and it's even more boring and ridiculous this year than normal.

@ What's up with the trikes covered in milk crates and potted flowers which lead out each country?

@ And what's up with the kids wearing the little Jedi apprentice clothes while carrying a potted twig?  Because plants are good?  Yea for plants!

@ How does Syria send a team?  And one of their guys has a bigger gut than a third-string Tommie nose guard. What sport is he in?

@ And what's up with the people lining the athlete walkway wearing yellow ducky hats while draped in a shower curtain with a bright pink arrow?

The Olympics have become both boring and extravagant to irrelevancy.

WTF!?!?  The "Refugee Team"!?!?  How the hell do refugees get to the Olympics?  Where do they train in a tent city?  The flag bearer is from Syria which has a team at the Olympics!  The world has gone mad.

If a tent city refugee wins the modern pentathlon then which country gets the medal count?  Refugeelandia?

Now, the announcer says the Olympics are "all about inclusion"?!?!  It's the single most exclusive event on the planet. Only the rich and athletically elite (Eddie the Eagle aside) can go. I'm turning it off. Can someone send me a text when the women's gymnastics and men's water polo are on?  Otherwise I can't watch.

Jeeeeus?  These are the "Reforestation Games"!  I'm gonna have a coronary.

Oz......what's Pat's rule on discussing politics? This is bordering on some kind of phobia. ;D But well worth a big +K

When other people (Olympic officials) drag politics into sports it's a little bit hard to avoid.
