You find anything noteworthy to eat or drink in Duluth or Bayfield?

I really like the Duluth Grill

Horton apparently only said, "I don't have time for drug cheats."

LOL, American swimmer Lilly King also called out her Russian competition as a cheater during an interview last night.

And then defeated her in the final tonight (Monday).

It's nice when the good guys win.

Heading up to my uncle-in-laws cabin on Superior in Bayfield, WI and stopping for lunch in Duluth. Pretty sure we're gonna do lunch at Fitgers Brew House.

Any suggestions for menu items and tap selections?

I've yet to be disappointed by any brews that I've purchased from Duluth's Bent Paddle brewery.

My wife had her heart set on the Brew House at Fitgers. The Stout was pretty average. Food was very good though.

Also had some amazing smoked brown sugar lake trout in Cornucopia, WI. Just fantastic, wish I'd bought more of it on the way out of town.

I hadn't seen that one before. Funny.

This one from New Zealand is good. It plays on the grating Kiwi accent.

@faunch- what is the condition of the Science Center Parking Lot for tailgating? I've heard there is construction in process...will the construction be done before the season begins?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

It's closed due to the Library / Learning Center construction and will remain closed throughout the football season. Essentially their building a fancy, techie coffee shop... ;D

Adam Herbst has assured me that they will find a suitable tailgate location.  Homecoming and the U$T parking will be an even bigger mess this year.

If they could reserve a section of P7 or P8 (aka Mary Lot or Flagpole Lot), that would be a convenient spot.  I doubt they'd do it, but it would be great.  How about the grassy area in front of the church?

Tom Thumb

I listened to Coach Haugen's interview this morning. Looks like NDSU QB Michael Veldman transferred to Gustavus and will be in the running to replace Mitch Hendricks. Veldman, a Becker grad and St. Cloud Times' Player of the Year in 2014, had a full scholarship offer from Western Illinois coming out of high school. The "Arms Race" continues.

That's all well and good (very, very good) but Gustavus' more pressing need is at defense.  If you look at the rankings Gustavus' offense is fairly highly ranked and it's defense is ranked pretty low, whereas most of the other MIAC schools offense and defense rankings aren't too far apart from each other.  They've had a few players change position from offense to defense and there are a number of quality defensive players in this years freshman and sophomore classes.    The other part of their game is the running game.  I believe that this year GAC should have a better running game which should help with clock management and keeping the defense off the field longer.
