SJU Senior Evan Clark was timed at 4.44 in the 40 today.
Is he on the track team????

Where are you getting these groovy details?  Published somewhere or insider info?

Aha.  Found it.

Good golly, that article led me to Frank Rajkowski's facebook page.  How was I not following him already?

An article I missed.  Very scary, Johnnies!

http://www.sctimes.com/story/sports/college/2016/08/06/football-sartell-lineman-thene-transfers-sju/88337344/

The St. John's University football team just added some size to its offensive line.

Anthony Thene, a 6-foot-4, 340-pound offensive tackle from Sartell, has decided to transfer to Collegeville and will be with the team when practice for the 2016 season starts next Sunday.

Had no idea SJU had so many sprinters -- from the MIAC outdoors:

Final
Wind = +2.6 m/s (aided)
1 Anthony Ekholm, Fr, St. Thomas                   10.72w
    2 Drew Schoenbauer, Fr, Saint John's               10.93w
3 Daniel Sauro, Jr, St. Thomas                     10.95w
    4 Undre Smith-Brewer, Jr, Augsburg                 10.98w
    5 Evan Clark, Fr, Saint John's                     11.05w
    6 Ryan Kuester, Jr, Saint John's                   11.08w
    7 Anthony Clarke, Fr, Saint John's                 11.28w

The Clark(e) "Twins" could do some damage this football season.  Anthony didn't play any last year, however I watched him in high school, and I think he could be a surprise this year.  Evan can flat out fly.  Jared Streit is another one to watch out for...6'5" 235lbs as a freshman and he only had one catch???  This kid can go up and get the ball!

I thought Evan Clark was looking really good last season before he got hurt.  He should be able to spread the field this year.  Streit was behind Nick Simon last year and didn't play much, but he was the impact player in this spring's Red/White game.  Harrington, who was a starter last year, is back also.  The receiving game might be more open this year.  This is encouraging as without Sura the offense will need to be more balanced.

Not sure about the red face masks?  Any guess how many years have they been white?
I wonder if Ridell is not allowing them to cover their logo or maybe the players names aren't all ready to be put on yet.

The names never covered that logo, though we used to have Saint John's stickers that went over them.  My guess is that names just didn't get put on yet.

You are correct...the last name on the front is a must.

Is he on the track team????

According to Wikepedia that's under the NFL average for wide receivers.

Still fast as hell for the MIAC. Not the fastest ever, but still.

I remember the first day of camp my freshman year when we did a mini-combine. First time most of us freshmen had ever been in an actual speed trap. Amazing how many guys who "run a 4.6" couldn't crack 5 in 3 attempts.

I saved my fibbing for the gals in Dowling Hall.

SJU used to be almost exclusively Schutt helmets.

Not sure if its the case with SJU (I really have no idea), but Schutt has been known to pay equipment managers money to cover the logo on Riddell helmets with a sticker similar to what Duff describes. You'll literally see some teams where certain helmets have a sticker like that and others don't. Usually means the helmets with the extra are Riddell and an equipment manager has some extra cash. I guess that's what you do when you don't have the market share  ::)

Unless SJU was using a laser to time those 40's you need to take it with a grain of salt. Add .15 to .2 seconds and you've have what a handheld 40 would translate to under the laser timed conditions of the NFL combine.

That would still be a solid time though.

SJU's been laser timing since before my day.  I was anything but fast, but it's still humbling.
