Question about the Travel Information for Saturday's game.  What is an "unsanctioned" bus?

On the press release is states:  - No unsanctioned buses will be allowed on campus.

Are fans / students from Purple Empire allowed to rent "party busses."  Is SJU only sanctioning busses that have been approved in advance?  I know it's been a problem in the past when busload of underage or even 21 students roll onto campus and roll down the stairs of the bus.  I've even heard that there have busses turned away.  Are they allowed to park on the frontage road on the north side of I-94?
Well, you know any Tommie bus will be a short one! ;)

Apologies for not mentioning this earlier. Kudos to the CSB/SJU team for their success at the great Minnesota get together this year. The Johnnies took first place in the FFA Tractor Driving contest and the Bennies brought home a blue ribbon in the Open Dairy Cattle event. Congrats! Know that even if the Tommie/Johnnie game doesn't go well for you all this year, you're still winners...
I'll assume this is your attempt at sarcasm & ridicule. As a former FFA member and state officer, I'm proud of my affiliation with that organization as well as my SJU diploma. And having grown up on a dairy farm (though I never showed cows-I just milked them), I am also proud of being a farm boy.
It appears you have little regard for either.

I'll assume this is your attempt at sarcasm & ridicule. As an individual with family members who have developmental disabilities, I'm proud of my family and the ways they have overcome their challenges as well as my UST diploma.
It appears you have little regard for the disabled or for your bosses and CEOs who attended UST.

My 2 year old woke me up this morning at 5am. Then I laid in bed for an hour with excitement (and a bit of nervousness) about the game Saturday before deciding to just get up.

Or he was making a joke. Stay proud of your family, but they are unconnected to bennie's post except in your mind.

Good luck to both teams on Saturday.

BleedPurple, thanks for having my back, but jamtoTommie is right. My attempt at humor was insensitive and I apologize if I offended anyone. :-[

We will save that for next week.
While researching game material tonight I did notice that all the SJU folks incorrectly refer to the Tommie-Johnnie game

I did get that (and my boss went to Notre Dame for the record), but that doesn't change the fact that my comment was in poor taste.

Injury news:

- WR Harrington (ankle) will play
- S Glomb (ankle) will play
- DL Hobby (shoulder) and CB Gutierrez (hamstring) didn't practice but might play
- RB Kai Barber (shoulder) is out for the year.  Damned shame.  Eligible for a redshirt.

I got this from the SCTimes website (Frank's blog) where it appears that I have been able to sign up for the $9.99 digital subscription by using my card and my parent's address.  We'll see if it rejects and the po-lice come knocking on my door.

Further: It appears that I can share my subscription with a friend, basically getting two subscriptions for the price of one.  All I need is your email address.  Friendships start at $9.99.

Barber is a tough loss.  Hobby and Gutierrez probably won't be 100%.

Erdmann and the d-line are the x-factors in this game.  If Jackson can find success throwing the ball the running game should follow.  D-line needs to hold their own and even break through a few times.  If they can get the job done our linebackers need to finish the job.
Bottom line is the Johnnies needs to sustain drives and make stops on defense.
Not expecting a win but wouldn't be surprised either.

Mr.MIAC

I just checked in for my morning flight out of DCA. With any luck, I'll be exploring the sights and sounds of St. Cloud by this time tomorrow.

It's moments like these that take me back to an early autumn day in 2011. I'm talking about the day when yours truly, well beyond fed up with the Johnnie Smokefest, decided to start posting on this board. I stressed from the beginning that UST and SJU, two institutions bound by a shared Catholic faith, enrich the community in different yet equally important ways.

I hold the same view today. With some hard work and maybe a little Tommie MagicTM the F.A.M.I.L.Y. will stand victorious over the fallen Johnnies this weekend. The contest will instruct and thereby enrich our community of spectators. The Tommies will have shown us how to be winners. The Johnnies will have shown us something equally important--how to maintain a preternatural sense of folksiness in the face of defeat lose gracefully.

Has it only been five years?
