I'm sure an assistant runs the team Twitter account, and I would be surprised if Gene really *reads* the boards. You don't have to read the board to write a joke about trolling!

I'd bet Caruso runs the account, without a doubt.

I would be really surprised. Not his style.

I think there's about a dozen SJU fans on this site that would disagree with you on that.

From Frank's SCTimes blog:
"St. John's quarterback Jackson Erdmann has not practiced this week and head coach Gary Fasching said he will be a game-time decision for the Johnnies' MIAC matchup at Bethel Saturday."

i wonder that happened?

Um, what?!?  I was staying away to let the heat go down a little but this pulled me back.

I read that same article last night. Thought it mentioned concussion. I didn't see when that happened during the game last week.

Jackson Erdmann rush for 15 yards to the SJU40, 1ST DOWN SJU, out-of-bounds (Mark Dowdle), PENALTY UST personal foul 15 yards to the UST45, 1ST DOWN SJU.

I hope Dowdle is recovering from the injuries he sustained.

I understand that's the case, but I'm not sure how many of them have actually spoken to the guy on a regular basis.

Probably as much as I have. None.

I know they give him a hard time on this thread.

Excuse me sir. Please keep your facts out of the Johnnie narrative.

bennie,
Please save a seat for Oz tomorrow. I have a Special Olympics event tomorrow. My kids are about the only thing that can keep me away from a Johnnie football game. If I'm not back by the end of the game, make sure the lights are turned off. ;)

See how nice I am about not mentioning the CU game  ;D

Re: Caruso checking the message board and/or running the UST Football Twitter account.

I think the Tommie supporters and his good friend, Pat, are right about this. I can't think of anything in the way Glenn carries himself that would hint at him wanting to be a part of every aspect of his program.

It's not like he is in the middle of the lead pack when the team enters the field, goes up on the shoulders of fans after they rush the field, created a "tradition" of ringing a bell, wrote a school song that is sung after wins, gets placed on the 1 of rival's logo during a photo for two straight years, holds an open audience each Monday night with supporters (and in the process throws message board worthy thoughts out), has narrated weekly YouTube videos, and spent time taping weekly Locker Room coaches shows.

Someone who participates in all of those things would maybe be interested in monitoring conversations and posting tweets but anyone who isn't wouldn't subject themselves to the noise of message board and social media chatter.

Sound like the Tommie's have a great coach...that stays involved uses his persona to push his program to be the best in the MIAC...Just saying ;D

I notice many coaches do a number of those things. I would say 90% of coaches storm out of the tunnel and onto the field with their team each home game. And that same percentage do numerous coaches show throughout the week. UWW does it.

But I admit, somethings he does would probably get under my skin as well.

Last week was a bit rough. I am surprised no one commented on the uniforms. Have fun with your kids!!

If I recall correctly, that's three Johnnie QB concussions in the last three games against the Tommies.  What an amazing coincidence!

I'm no statistician, but I believe there is probably a pretty strong correlation between a QB getting sacked numerous times and concussions. We've sacked your QB 11 times in those games.

Football absolutely has an issue with head trauma and concussions. It's a rough game. My wife was in a car accident 16 months ago and is still recovering from a concussion she received, so I don't take that lightly.

I understand that the narrative is that UST's players are intentionally taking cheap shots. Perhaps the narrative should be extended to include SJU's offensive line being unable to protect it's QB from sacks.
