And yes, I have thought about the odd sequence leading to the final 1:48 of chaos. 1. the questionable 4th down interference call on UST 2. Flawlessly executed hook & ladder 3. Alada missing the tackle, luckily. 4. The unsportsmanlike on the XP 5. The interference penalty 6. The dropped interception The TD pass. 7. could have been the offside on the TD pass if it didn't get completed.

The DPI call against UST was fair, as far as I could tell from the film on Monday. Include UST dropping two potential interceptions (one before the DPI and one after) on that possession in the 1:48 of chaos too.

Sorry. Stream of consciousness was the only way to describe that game, especially since the last 5 minutes or so was like a David Foster Wallace novel. When you say to yourself, "What is happening right now? This can't be real." at least 4 or 5 times in a 40 seconds of football, it taxes the brain.

My son called it the most intense game he's ever been a part of in his entire football career.  Said the atmosphere at the Jake was amazing and couldn't say enough just how more and more people kept coming into the stadium as the 4th quarter wore on.  Wish I had been there!

Cobbers had a phenomenal crowd.

"Lutefisk! Lefse! Ya sure, you betcha!" Was my favorite cheer. Had to be almost 7k there. Could have done without the "F the Tommies" cheer, every 5 minutes. Not clever and pretty crass when you're there with a little one.

I thought UST owned that cheer "F the Johnnies" I've heard that forever...even in your era Bench  ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Boys of Fall

I thought the UST behind the back 2-point conversion pass last year was a set-up for an extra point conversion that might have had some meaning down the road.  Being as the attempted trick 2-point conversion last Saturday was unsuccessful (neither fooling Concordia nor converting) maybe the play from last year wasn't a set-up.  That extra point they earned by going for two last year against Carleton must have meant something itself.  80-3 does look better than 79-3.

That's usually just the female Tommies emphatically stating their plans for the evening.  :o

Before today, the greatest prizes our very own Robert Zimmerman had won were his entry into the elite SOUP program at Mankato State in 7th grade (Students of Unlimited Potential), earning Eagle Scout honors, lettering in baseball and being GM for an intramural SJU hoops dynasty that included yours truly and former SJU football legend Matt Griffith.

Today, the Nobel! Congrats, Robert!

That was actually pretty funny Duffman.

Pretty sure every school with a student section does that cheer, but it must have happened 20 times during the Cobber game. Pretty jarring to hear after a good old fashioned cheer about lutefisk.
