Sorry I missed the game, all.  I went to a wedding yesterday and couldn't pull myself out of bed a 5 this morning.  Go, Johnnies!

I saw the stats. Tough game for the Knights. Our defense is really staring to harden up. That three ducks this season, as they say in cricket

Can an outsider ask a question about the Johnnie-Tommie game?

As someone in a wheelchair, I'm always interested in the logistics of games like this. I've been to one Cortaca game at Ithaca in the last 13 years, and spent a good portion of that arguing with fans because, despite sitting in the front row of the bleachers, fans decided to stand in the walkway and block my view.

Is this game standing room only? What kind of wheelchair access is there at the stadium?

I can for sure speak for Clemens Stadium at SJU but am reasonably certain for UST that both stadiums conform to compliant regulations for ADA. That being said,SJU has physically more space and yes there is a lot of standing room available. There are several wheelchairs at every SJU game parked on the paved walkway at the top of the hill that form The Natural Bowl. I'm sure if you reached out to the athletic department office prior to the game they could make a reservation for you. I hope that helps.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Definitely doable at SJU.  My grandpa used to attend games.  They'd also help you get to the stadium from your parking spot.

With a 15 year old grandson in a wheelchair because of cerebral palsy, I can say that just because a stadium is ADA compliant, that doesn't mean wheelchair accommodation is acceptable.  D-I seems to be the most adaptable, but in D-II and D-III,  front row seating with space for wheelchairs means dealing with all the people walking back and forth or simply a standing in front of you.  If the stadium is a "bowl" type setting, wheelchair seating often is in the back row where people aren't willing to give up the seat intended for the "companion" without some kind of official intervention and only after an uncomfortable confrontation, or at the top of the end zone, I.e., the "cheap seats".  I give kudos to Michigan State and to Hope College for handicap football facilities which work well with wheelchair fans.  I'm sure there are others, but I haven't been there yet.

Though I'll always be a fan of the classic red jersey/white pants combo, I think the red/red look is pretty sharp!

Week 8 in the MIAC 2016

Congrats to Coach Johnson in getting his 200th career win at BU, as they enjoy their bye week this week.

The first game this week is Hamline at St. Thomas. The Tommies are rested, having had their bye last week, while the Pipers are coming off a loss to the Cobbers up in Moorhead. A couple of weeks back these were the only two unbeaten teams in the conference. I hope that Hamline can give the Tommies a game, and looking at how they each played the Cobbers these past two weeks, St. Thomas cannot take this game too lightly.

The second game for the MIAC is St. John's headed down to Gustavus, who are coming off a loss to BU. That, and it was only a couple of years back when the Gusties surprised the Johnnies at home. I really don't think that will happen again this week, but both teams, or at least their coaches, won't forget that Gustie win for awhile.

The third game for the coming week is the match-up between Concordia down at Augsburg. Both teams won last week after losing the week before that. But the reality is that the Auggies just don't have the experience on the field to stand toe to toe with the Cobbers this year. For Concordia, they start a three week spread of playing teams with 4 combined wins so far this year. They need to stay sharp as they look to the last game on their schedule with the Johnnies.

The game of the week is the Northfield rivalry where St. Olaf goes across town to Carleton for the Goat Trophy. This should be a pretty good game, looking at the numbers. But Carleton is at home and already has a come from behind conference win against Hamline, so the nod goes in the favor of the Knights. If it goes as I suspect, the eagle in the center of town gets turned towards Carleton for the first time since 2013.

I predict a trouncing in St. Peter...by the visitors.

It does look sharp.  One question though...is that an 11 on his helmet when he's wearing the 9 jersey?

The 11 is in honour of local boy Jacob Wetterling who was murdered 27 years ago when he was 11. His remains were recently found and his murderer apprehended.

Good question, Hawk. It is an 11. All players are wearing an 11 on the right side of their helmet to honor Jacob Wetterling. http://www.gojohnnies.com/news/2016/9/15/general-sju-athletics-to-honor-jacob-wetterling.aspx

I imagine dialogue like this is is exactly what the desired outcome is, to help raise awareness of Jacob and other missing children.
