Referring to a recurring conversation about university ambitions, I saw an billboard today that made me chuckle.  It was for Deakin University, similar in profile to maybe Mankato State.  The sign said Deakin was, "Victoria's #1 university under 50 years old."  Keep cutting that spreadsheet, I say, until you come out on top.

Perhaps a safer bet "Victoria's #1 University of universities located on Mont Iris Ave"  ::)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Two thoughts from today's game:

@ Golly, the defense is fast and aggressive.

@ Cripes, the defense is potent.

YeaH! Basically, no points scored against the defense. FG goes against Special Teams.

The second game for the MIAC is St. John's headed down to Gustavus, who are coming off a loss to BU. That, and it was only a couple of years back when the Gusties surprised the Johnnies at home. I really don't think that will happen again this week, but both teams, or at least their coaches, won't forget that Gustie win for awhile.

I predict a trouncing in St. Peter...by the visitors.

Was I right, or was I right?  ;)

Yea, combined AUG,CC & GAC 167-10 and defense allowed 0. They are pretty stingy.

Alvord has played great...Erdmann is back but rusty....I will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Re: Erdmann
Since I've been out of the Chemistry game for a while you better verify with Duffman but I think we call it an accumulation  of iron oxide.  :o ;D

Nicely done! From one Chem Major to another.

I hope that Erdman starts against Hamline. Maybe split the load, but he does need to buy some Rustoleum.

Then a decision must be made as to who goes against the Cobbers.

The added infield turf worked pretty well for the soccer game.

Keep in mind that the soccer field had to be angled to fit the dimensions of the baseball field layout.

I've changed my mind and decided that Johnnie / Tommie game will easily draw over 20K fans...could be as high as 30K.  The reason why I believe this is that my father-in-law has asked me to buy tickets for my family (wife and two kids), my sister-in-law, her husband and two kids and my mother-in-law and himself.  He attended STA and College of $t. Thomas before getting married and drafted in 1968 (he got his draft notice on his wedding day).  He hasn't attended an SJU / U$T game in about 20 years.
It's got me thinking that I might want to buy about 20 tickets in the $35 section and see if I can get $50 a piece for the extra extras.

There's some sort of joke in there but I've been so beaten down by 24 years of marriage that I can't think what it could be.

Oh and my mother-in-law was about 2 month pregnant and his mom was mad at him for not buying new shoes.

The d3football.com poll is out (http://d3football.com/top25/2016/week8).

The Johnnies move up two spots to 8th.  The Tommies remain in 4th.  The Cobbers get six points from votes.
