WOW!!!
+k to all of yesterday's posters. Imagine a full day of posts short enough for me to read.

Since I'm so old that I don't buy green bananas I enjoyed it.   :P

Bell's Two Hearted Ale.

Interesting projected playoff bracket on the main page:

http://d3football.com/playoffs/2016/first-playoff-projection

It certainly is.  They put SJU in the Mount Union bracket, which also includes UWO.

Talk about loading up a bracket.  That Mount bracket is unreal.  Glad this is just a projection and not the final because whoever came out of that bracket would be so beat up by the end that little chance of going on.  Also, UST would have a pretty easy trip to the semi's outside of a possible matchup with UWP.  Outside the first game UMHB I don't think would have much competition until the semi's.  UWW would need to get past Linfield to take on a beaten up team from what I'm assuming would be the East Region.  I like the teams that they've got in but definitely would like to see the brackets evened out a little more.

Depending on who the number 6 Pool C team is will determine which bracket gets stacked. Either the "North" or "West" brackets will have a larger share of good teams because of geographical constraints. The better teams seem to be in the middle of the country this year (please, no flames from the UMHB fans) which makes it extremely difficult to keep folks within the 500 mile bus travel constraint deemed by the NCAA.

Just an FYI for those still wondering if the fake punt was legal or not - I got confirmation from coach Johnson and want to share his response.

The refs knew at halftime that they blew it. It was addressed this week with the officials, but not nearly as well as you addressed and described the illegality of the play. The opposing coach was "pretty sure" it was illegal but put it in anyway. It made quite a few people look dumb including us...

Thanks for getting after it that way!  You are something. I'd like to pass this on at a MIAC meeting next week if it's ok with you...

The MIAC meeting should get a pretty good chuckle if they read the posts on this (illegal snap).  With my son entering college this year we sat down with the NFHS and NCAA football rule books this past summer to figure out what the differences are that effect him at the positions he plays (o-line, d-line, long snapper, H-back).  He found out in high school that knowing the rules (and being able to quote them) helped when dealing with the refs as long as you are respectful.

Getting back to beer - one of my favorites is Indeed's Mexican Honey. It's very yummy and very sneaky (8.2% ABV)

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Brings back when I was a lad and Armistice  Day was a really big deal with parades, speeches etc.
Thank you.
Surprise to you folks who thought I was born BEFORE WW I.   8-)

As long as we're honouring vets on Veteran's Day, I'll post my favourite martial poem: The Charge of The Light Brigade:

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air,
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reel'd from the sabre stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honor the charge they made,
Honor the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred.
