Brings back when I was a lad and Armistice  Day was a really big deal with parades, speeches etc.
Thank you.

The cease fire of the "War to End All Wars" (WWI) was at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of the year.

Hence today, November 11th, used to be known as Armistice Day. A few years and wars later, it became Veterans Day.

57, I know you know this, as everyone did back a generation or two or three.

Now that I ponder it, this is the first year I can remember that I haven't seen anyone selling artificial poppies to wear this time of year.

Now that you mention it, no poppies here either.
I miss the celebrations and fondly remember my long gone parents explaining to me what they were all about.

Win and in. If Clark has a big day the Jays will win. No one on the field can match his speed. They don't need to go to a Clark Count, inspired by the Vikings Randy Ratio, but getting him the ball will be key.

So, how does the Cobber stream work?  I don't see the game listed as an upcoming event.  Will it show on the main page once game time approaches?

A tradition unrivaled...

Go Johnnies Twitter just posted this URL for video. http://concordiamn.prestosports.com/links/l8z3ej

Thought it appears that's probably the page you were previously on as it doesn't have the game listed as an event. Assuming it will appear as an option close to kick off.

Hell of a game for the Johnnies. The Cobbers played tough and had the Johnnies on the ropes for the whole first half.  And the first couple minutes of the third it looked pretty desperate.  But the Jays dug deep and won going away.  A hell of a display in a very challenging game.

So, to the playoffs we go.  Here's what I think about this Johnnie squad:

* The D!  How about that defense?!?  They have steadily progressed this year and are a dominating outfit.  They will keep the Johnnies in every post season game, as deep as the Jays play.

* The O has courage.  They don't quit.  They play and adjust and keep going.  And they have some danger.  Clarke.  And some guts on the ground.  Kruger.  They are a reliable three or four scores every game.

I think this squad has a chance to do well this year.  Turnover and penalties, long the bugbear of post season losses, are the only thing we need be concerned with.  Everywhere else I think the Jays are good.

Congratulations to Coach Glen Caruso and his squad on another MIAC Championship.  Should be home throughout the playoffs on the way back to Salem.

Bethel squeaked a closed one against Hamline, 17-14.  BU was penalised 11 times for 120 yards.  Yowzers.  They were grumpy.

The Johnnies are the Rodney Dangerfield of the West Region, and maybe D III overall.  They allowed the fewest points of any MIAC team, both overall, and in conference play. They scored the most points of all MIAC teams, (other than STU) both overall and in conference, Yet they are ranked 8/9 in the rankings, and #6 in the West Region. "I get no respect." (Tug at my tie.)

Oh no my friend.  Gird your loins.  We be a drinkin'.   ;D

Quite possibly the post of the year.

It could carry over for two years as we will be in Oz in February...
