Brings back when I was a lad and Armistice  Day was a really big deal with parades, speeches etc.
Thank you.

The cease fire of the "War to End All Wars" (WWI) was at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of the year.

Hence today, November 11th, used to be known as Armistice Day. A few years and wars later, it became Veterans Day.

57, I know you know this, as everyone did back a generation or two or three.

Now that I ponder it, this is the first year I can remember that I haven't seen anyone selling artificial poppies to wear this time of year.

Poppies are usually associated with Memorial Day, two totally different Holidays.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Do we really think a one loss team from SJU, with the loss being to a top 5 team, is not getting in? Come on, book it. They are in.

Mount Union and Case Western Reserve both lost today and it has jumbled up the Pool C picks depending on how the Regional Rankings are set. And if you did not know it, the final ranking is hidden from us, so we don't really know how each region has ranked their teams. FWIW - no changes in the West from today's results.

Actually, we don't even know that.  There's no reason to expect changes from last week, but that doesn't guarantee that there won't be any. ;)

Is anyone listening to the d3football.com bracketology show?  They haven't posted an updated bracket on the web as far as I can see and I can't listen to the show at the moment. Who do they predict are the at large schools?

UWP, SJF, Franklin, CWR were final four up for consideration.

Final spot was really a debate between UWP and SJF. UWP didn't get on the board for consideration until the final round.

Thanks, art. Fingers crossed they are correct.

They're just closing up the show and Pat said the mock bracket should be on the D3 site in about an hour.

Well, the d3football.com bracket is out. The Johnnies stay west this time with UST and UWO.

hazzben

I really like the projected bracket, especially that Mount stays in the North and actually has to play some teams before the semi's. The North and West are stacked, but you're gonna play tough teams in the playoffs. The real gift would be for Johns Hopkins and Alfred in the East.

From Pat:

As we enter Week 11, the final weekend of the 2016 Division III football regular season, there are only a couple of at-large playoff spots really up in the air. We only get six true at-large teams, and the way things sit today, four of them are pretty clear. However, there's some football left to be played before we learn who plays where in the Field of 32 on the road to Stagg Bowl XLIV. The selection show streams online (you can find a link on D3football.com) at 6 p.m. ET Sunday.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!
