I turned off my add blocker for this site and d3football.com, as per Pat's request, and look what pops up.  I've been missing out.  Looks like I'll be having a late night in a couple Tuesdays.  :)

You know it's playoff time when DustySJU crawls out of the woodwork.  :o

That "Knock Knock" you hear is the Johnnie "D".

Woodwork indeed.

As already noted, weather will probably be a factor at Collegeville. I think SJU showed something in the win at Morehead - they stuck in after a tough first half. On occasion brain fog can consume SJU and they mentally check out....  I see no brain fog this Saturday. 32 degrees not that cold. Could be an underated SJU beats an overated Plattville. If/when St. Thomas gets to round 2. I expect a COE victory. Yea, I know I'm getting ahead of things here.

Anyone aware of a connection between Augsburg and HS football in Texas? This past week Sabine HS ran a vacation of the fake punt Augsburg ran against Bethel. It's the #2 play of the week on Hudl.com's weekly highlights. http://www.hudl.com/video/582a2b6b12971c073c16dcfd

Full disclosure: The video sponsor is a client of mine.
I emailed the coach and got this back:

"No sir, but both look very similar. Actually, I was going through old notes from when I was coaching at Longview and came across notes taken on a star burst kick-off return, and thought why not on a punt? Thanks for the link and thanks for asking. "

Also it looks like Augsburg has taken their highlight off of Hudl.  Maybe they're hoping everyone will forget about it so they can run it again in the future?

Kind of sad when officials don't know what a legal snap is.  They probably removed the highlight since they are embarrassed they got away with an illegal play.

In other news, nice re-design for d3football.com. I like.
Since I don't and won't belong to any social network, I guess I can no longer use d3football.com, at least I haven't figured it out. :'(j

Oops, maybe I got it by touching the 3equal sign on upper right.  ;)

I think you already belong, this board would be considered a form of a social network.

No No No! This board is an anti-social network  :)

Playoff Team Capsules are up on the main page.  My favorite line under "How Far Can They Go?"

For Northwestern:  Google says it's 7.5 miles.  But the NCAA mileage chart says 8.0 miles, so perhaps they can pocket the difference when the NCAA reimburses for the bus trip.

Fun little D3 tidbit, (no political judgments offered):

Reince Priebus, incoming Chief of Staff, went to Whitewater.
Outgoing Chief of Staff is Denis McDonough, standout football player at...St. John's.

Looking at what the "sports television" market is putting on tonight, would it be possible to schedule some d3 tournament games on Thursday/Friday nights to get some air time, especially the later rounds?
Everyday is payday in paradise.
