AO;

My apologies. I just discovered that this is Northwestrn's first trip to the playoffs. An article on d3football.com tipped me off. Congratulations and good luck.  I reckon the Eagles will get spanked something fierce but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you against the Tommies.

With two MIAC teams in the tourney, the lack of chatter is unsettling. :(  How am I supposed to bide my time before a 9:00 a.m. meeting?

Perhaps you could go off on a rant about CSB/SJU are closed today (Winter storm Argo) and tell us stories about how these students are a bunch of candy bottoms and how in your day......  8-)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

The "experts" are unanimously picking U$T by a large margin over UNWSP and are split 4-2 for UW-P over SJU in a tight game.

It is a little surprising.  I can recall 2 closings in my days at SJU, and both were the result of 18" snowfalls.  Yes, we took full advantage and drank a lot the night before both, banking on the weather forecasts being correct!

It will be interesting how this storm pans out.  I'll have to get the local report from my dad before I head up tomorrow.

When I was a student we never got a day off. Upperclassmen all lived in St. Mary's Hall. We had to WALK the entire 20 yards to class and 20 back and it was uphill both ways - so there!  ;D.      Candy bottoms!!!

My junior year, I lived in Benet Hall.  I worked in the Great Hall, ate in the Refectory, and had class in the Quad, so I rarely had to go outside in the winter. :)

Sounds painful.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

UST has officially launched it's junior college, named after alum and major donor Mike Dougherty. It's planned to open with an initial intake of 150 students and an endowment of roughly $20 million ($18 million has already been raised). I'm not too sure on whether or not these students are eligible for the football team.

Benet was for Freshman in my day so the only time I had to go outside was for chemistry classes in the old Science Building (is it Engel now). Hockey was outside and John was coach.
