Robert Zimmerman

Will miss the game today, heading down to coach my son's travel basketball team (sfury:  It's in Buffalo  ;D).  Will check in for some updates!

HOLY CRAP!  What a finish!  Way to fight back Johnnies and get the win.  That was a team refusing to lose.

D O.C.

3/4 of us were still wondering about the preceding pass play.

A nail biter for sure! (And the long snapper made that game a lot harder than it needed to be.)

Rule 8-3-2a. The ball shall be put in play by the team that scored a six-point touchdown. If a touchdown is scored during a down in which time in the fourth period expires, the try shall not be attempted unless the point(s) would affect the outcome of the game.

Should have ran the pat.

Thanks, all, who are giving the Johnnies a little love.  Much appreciated.

I saw no time left on the clock - why run the PAT?

Heck of a game.  I won't be one to put this on the refs as surely both teams made their share of mistakes and UWP didn't get a defensive stop when they needed on that last drive.
As a WIACer, I will say "bank error in your favor" from the refs to the Johnnies.
The kick return, the 15 yard sideline infraction after the pick and the subjective decision on the TD all were big calls.  Fortunately the kick return call didn't prevent a UWP TD.

Art,
Mentioned this on in-game thread but because it's a one-point game, there's a chance that Platteville could still win if they returned it for a safety. Obviously SJU would just take a knee so it's moot. But in 2011, in the same end zone, Augsburg beat Johnnies on final play. Won 32-31, same score. About 20-30 minutes later, they clear everyone off the field and bring 11 guys from each team back for the PAT. Augsburg just took a knee. It was bizarre, but did make some type of sense.

You may have missed some obvious pass interference and holding calls that should have gone the Johnnies way. But your point is taken, the refs made as many mistakes as the Johnnies today.
