I reckon Erdmann and Evans will light it up next year.  A deep run for the Johnnies.

Ha. I was thinking the same thing. The jury was like " what's the difference. Let's get outta here."

In the meantime, I'm getting a little worried about the Wild...

Not that much of a hockey fan but I do tend to keep track of the Wild.   They were practically unbeatable until the last month or so of the season and then they couldn't seem to win to save their souls.  What's up with that?

This is probably the most predictable ending to a Wild season (or, more generally, a Minnesota team's season) possible.  I can't say I'm too surprised that they are falling off a cliff.

And yeah, I think the Johnnies will probably be the team to beat.  Really going out on a limb, I know.

Happy Easter to all the MIACPP cast of characters.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has its annual pre-draft analysis of kids "with Wisconsin connections" who might be in the draft or post-draft free agent mix.  They mention Drew Neuville, TE from Bethel:

QuoteDREW NEUVILLE, TE, Bethel (Minn.) (6-4, 238, 4.93): Played at Bay Port. Productive player at the small-college level. Finished with 110 receptions for 1,360 (12.4) and 10 TDs. Worked out for scouts on Minnesota-Duluth pro day in Minneapolis. Vertical jump of 27, broad jump of 9-3 and Wonderlic of 28. Two scouts had no knowledge of Neuville. Projection: Possible free agent.

A couple WIAC guys also mentioned

I have a confession to make. I miss ChicagoTommie. Nobody can turn a phrase quite like him.

Plus at any given time he has enough cash in his pocket to buy a neighborhood. A nice neighborhood.

Sending out the Bat Signal for ChicagoTommie!

Spot on BDB. I discovered a long time ago the saying "never judge a book by it's cover" is so very true. I've never met CT, but I have had business dealings many times over the years with people just like him. It's the book "The Millionaire Next Door", these are probably my favorite types of stories but are very often hard to get the story out of. Then there are the types like CT, who came up out of nowhere and found an unfilled need & filled it- they are large & in charge and typically very open about their story. I've also had dealings with people  who "play the part" but everything is maxed out & couldn't come up with $5K if you gave them a month's notice. The world is a interesting place.

It's the traditional Easter Monday clash with the old foe today.  Geelong are 3-0 while Hawthorn are 0-3.  It's been a disappointing season so far.  The HoF Hawthorn coach, Alistair  Clarkson, is trying to implement a new game plan and the boys are struggling.  Footy is a free flowing game and it looks like he's trying to build a plan where anyone can play almost any position at any time depending on the game's circumstances.  Decision making has been poor in response. We'll see how this develops.  Anyway, I think we're likely to be spanked like a red-headed stepchild today.  I'm going to the match with #3, a Cats supporter like her mother.

EDIT:  Oh, my.  It's going to be a long, long season.

Anyone here watch Better Call Saul?  The wife and I enjoy it.  He's an entertaining character and I think it's a worthy spin off from Breaking Bad.  It's quite a challenge, I imagine, to write a compelling story where the end point is known (just look at how well Lucas did with episodes 1-3 of Star Wars. (that was sarcasm))

Episode 3 of season 2 was on tonight.  It's approaching the start of Breaking Bad.  The wife and I figure it will catch up at the end of this season.  Perhaps it can squeeze one season more in before Saul meets Walt, but it will be difficult.  I wonder if they will run the show parallel to Breaking Bad or perhaps jump to Saul's post BB life.  Assuming it gets more seasons, of course, but I think it will.

My Wife and I are big fans as well.  Watching it via Netflix, with 2 episodes left in season 2.

They've done a remarkable job I'd say, as far as spinoffs go.  Just enough references to, and characters from BB, but still a different flavor.

I too have been curious when Mike will start working with Gustavo Freng.  Not a spoiler, I don't think, to say that it hasn't happened yet.  I lean towards another season or two until they start running parallel. Season Three just started on cable, I think...so I always have to avoid spoilers until the following year when it hits Netflix.

I've been watching it.  Didn't think it would be that interesting when they announced it but I was mistaken.  Season three just began 4/10.
