Speaking of the footy, man-buns have become very popular lately. Someone recently said to me that man-buns are the millenials' mullet. Perfect.
There must be a time delay in Oz, because their popularity is waning here. Thank you Jesus!

I'm back to the summer haircuts my dad used to bring me to the barber shop kicking & screaming as a youth- high & tight. It's summer!
Doesn't everybody use the Farmer's Almanac to determine the best day to get a haircut?  :)

Yeah, we've got Europe influencing us here as well. Europe where man-buns are still running strong and grown men wear scarfs that compliment their outfits. When it isn't even snowing.

Heading out the door to go fishing but saw this on twitter. I recall when Blake Weber transferred to the U from RCTC; he was welcomed by Gopher fans at the time.

I was wondering how UST's defense would look after losing Jesse Addo. Weber should be a nice replacement. I'm sure Kuchinski is pretty happy to have Weber and Olson added to an already deep group of LBs. I wonder if those scrimmages against RCTC had any influence on Weber's and Stanger's decision to transfer to UST.

Cody Stanger, RCTC, DL. Here is a nice article on Stanger: http://www.postbulletin.com/sports/localsports/stanger-has-worked-way-to-greatness/article_9efb89f6-44a9-558b-b97a-0b9c3001f37d.html

I hope I didn't miss this link being posted here, don't think I've seen it, if so, I apologize for the repeat.  An article from the SC Times from yesterday discussing Johnnie recruiting.  Some transfers, not sure how much impact any will have.  Doesn't strike me as that impressive a group overall, maybe some of you will have some insights.  Could just be the write up isn't by Mr. Rajkowski!! ;)

Only two months until the season starts.  Sheesh.  It's a loooooong off-season.

Happy Fourth of July, all.

Khalif the DT from Illinois is very good, will most likely get a lot of playing time this year, Dan the transfer from the U is also very good from the looks of it, is very athletic and could push for some time this year as a freshmen, they're recruiting class may not seem as good but overall is actually suprisingly solid, very good O-Line group, good WRs and some good athletes

79 days until Johnnie-Tommie at Target Field!

I just looked at tickets again today.  Much of the lower level is sold out. The Delta Legends Club is completely sold out (except for a handful of single seats).  And, the Twins have already started selling some tickets in the 300 level.

It's going to be yuge!

Lets get a look at this 2017 Tommie Football recruiting class - my understanding is that it's on par with Concordia and Bethel and tops in the MIAC this year.  It would be a great year to see UST, Concordia and Bethel competing for the conference championship and STO gaining ground.  My wife will be a SR at STO this fall, so I am pulling for the Oles.

My BU recruiting report and season tickets showed up in my mailbox two nights ago. Not seeing the rest of the MIAC's incoming classes, it's hard for me to be able to ascertain how Bethel stacks up against the Johnnies, Tommies and Cobbers. I can say it seemed like a pretty long list at BU, so they have been out actively recruiting, even amidst all the coaching changes and shuffling going on. Trying to read between the lines (and not give too much away) from what I saw, it didn't appear that there were any "game changers" on the list, so expect another good team out of Bethel, but with no real "stars" coming on board. There are probably diamonds in the rough that will turn into leaders on the field, but we just can't see who they are right now. FWIW

Saw some interesting stats on where Minnesota High School grads are going to college in the Pioneer Press.

You can scroll to the bottom of the 2nd link to find the data for each public school in the state.

Was pretty surprised to see that my alma mater Long Prairie-Grey Eagle sends more grads to Northwestern than any other private college in the state and most public colleges.  I've apparently inspired a whole generation of students!  ;D
