BDB

So, BDB had a "LIVE PD" experience this morning. As I approach work I notice a number of squad cars roaming around the area. "They are looking for someone" I brilliantly think to myself. I get to work and park, and as I walk towards the building I notice this young man walking parallel to me about 25 yards away on the sidewalk along a busy commercial street. At 7am he looked a bit disheveled.

Anyway I get in the building and look out the window and several squads are coming in a hurry and one of the cops takes this guy down to the asphalt. So now we have 6-7 squads and all kinds of uniforms and this guy is cuffed.

I come to learn there had been a "Shelter In Place" alert put out for this area Wednesday night about 8:30 as they looked for this guy and another. They had a SWAT team going the night before and the whole bit. They got the other guy last night I guess.

So, you never know what might happen around you. Thank you to the men and women of law enforcement!

Need some new blood on this site as there is only 10-12 posters left here.  This use to be the Johnny love board and even that is gone.
Really! At this time of year, we are all fishing, drinking beer or both.  :)

Fishing slows down during football season :D

The Awful Announcing site released their guesses as to where ESPN College Game Day will be going each Saturday this season. The Tommie/Johnnie tilt at Target Field was not listed as a possibility for week 4, 9/23. There are plenty of name brand programs playing that week so it would be quite the PR effort by SJU/UST/MIAC to make it happen.

Week 4: TCU at Oklahoma State
Other options: Notre Dame at Michigan State, Penn State at Iowa, UCLA at Stanford
This "GameDay" trip to Stillwater relies on both teams surviving early road tests, as TCU plays at Arkansas in Week 2 and Oklahoma State will have played at Pitt the previous week. But this should be a game between undefeated Top 20 teams, including one in Oklahoma State that has the offensive firepower it needs to make the College Football Playoff. And anytime you have the opportunity to see Lee Corso fire off Pistol Pete's guns, you take it.

Full article is here, but keep in mind the site runs terribly slow. http://awfulannouncing.com/espn/predicting-2017-weekly-locations-espns-college-gameday.html

I'm still around, lurking. But there isn't much worth responding to as 90% of the comments are about Australian footy or some such non-American nonsense.

Apparently you don't have any MIAC football info to add lately since you've been lurking and not posting. The rest of us that hang around during the offseason keep the lights on by discussing whatever comes up, sort of like what you might do before a football game.

It's called ca·ma·ra·de·rie

/ˌkäməˈrädərē,ˌkaməˈrädərē/

noun: camaraderie

synonyms: friendship, comradeship, fellowship, companionship, fraternity, conviviality;

One of the reasons this is the most viewed board on this site I believe.

There are some good games but you have to keep in mind college gameday broadcasts on saturday, most of the good games are on Friday so they could still have a decent chance

No, you can stop doing that.

Another week and the boys report to camp, then the real rosters will start to come out and we'll know who really went where and how strong a particular class is and all of the fun stuff.  Soon after that the first games will start and then we'll see how good the teams are.  So right now I'm just working with my son to get everything ready for football camp and then for school, get a couple of suits let out (because he packed on muscle since spring), swag orders coming in, reconditioned pads in steeltown gold and black come back from Douglas (look real sharp BTW), put the final touches on long/short snapping technique, and finish up boxing training (something every DL player should do).  The quiet before the storm.

Business suits?  What does a college sophomore need business suits for?  (no offense, just curious)

D3 info - if you haven't taken a look yet, on the front page is the D3 pre-season All America Team.

On the first team, only one from the MIAC - Jackson Hull from St. Thomas

On the second team, three from the MIAC - Jordan Roberts from St. Thomas, Evan Clark from St. John's, and Alex Berg from Conccordia-Moorhead

WIAC only got two in.

Check it out here: http://d3football.com/awards/all-americans/2017-preseason
