...get a couple of suits let out (because he packed on muscle since spring)...

Business suits?  What does a college sophomore need business suits for?  (no offense, just curious)
A good fitting suit can add a year or two to the appearance of a college sophomore.  This can be a difference maker in a liquor store, or at Patrick's down the hill in St. Peter.

Symphonic band performances (tuxedo, plus he's going on a tour of Sweden and Norway during J-term playing tenor trombone), plus the team dresses up the day before games.

Fair enough. SJU had a much more casual vibe.  Hell, I don't even own a suit now, though I recently found out that I'm being laid off, so that may need to change.  :-\

Nah, that's just trying too hard.  He'd get busted every time.  :D

Unfortunately he has no problem getting alcohol (he is on a TEAM).  Too bad beer pong isn't in the Olympics, he would have a good chance of qualifying. His team came in 3rd in a field of 120 teams.  He'll be 21 next fall so no big deal

That's bad news, duffman.  Good luck on whatever comes next.

awards banquets (football, track, athletic department), football alumni functions, his major (Economics), Jazz Band performances (plays bass trombone), Symphonic band performances (tuxedo, plus he's going on a tour of Sweden and Norway during J-term playing tenor trombone), plus the team dresses up the day before games.

GAC has J Terms? Good for the Gusties. I always thought SJU made a mistake giving them up. Great memories and experiences for my four.

Duff, plug into that Johnnie pipeline. You'll be fine.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I'm still around, lurking. But there isn't much worth responding to as 90% of the comments are about Australian footy or some such non-American nonsense.

Apparently you don't have any MIAC football info to add lately since you've been lurking and not posting. The rest of us that hang around during the offseason keep the lights on by discussing whatever comes up, sort of like what you might do before a football game.

It's called ca·ma·ra·de·rie

/ˌkäməˈrädərē,ˌkaməˈrädərē/

noun: camaraderie

synonyms: friendship, comradeship, fellowship, companionship, fraternity, conviviality;

One of the reasons this is the most viewed board on this site I believe.

Here's what it looks like when a Johnnie tries to figure out what a multisyllabic word like "camaraderie" means...

I know we like to use our TEs but I was somewhat surprised by Hull's inclusion on the first team.

I would be somewhat surprised to see Jordan Roberts end the season as a 2nd team All-American, coming back from injury and with comfort with last year's starter/backup in Trettel and Parks.

D3 info - if you haven't taken a look yet, on the front page is the D3 pre-season All America Team.

On the first team, only one from the MIAC - Jackson Hull from St. Thomas

On the second team, three from the MIAC - Jordan Roberts from St. Thomas, Evan Clark from St. John's, and Alex Berg from Conccordia-Moorhead

WIAC only got two in.

Check it out here: http://d3football.com/awards/all-americans/2017-preseason

I, too, have been a lurker in the offseason. If you want posts from an older retired guy, here;s what you would get.

I played golf Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. In order, I shot: 74, 88
(WTF), 76 and 75.

I'm sure that excited no one. Which is why I only lurk.

Anybody looking for a game next year?  We've never played the Cobbers before, but it might be time to put Bethel back on the schedule.

That would be an interesting home and home arrangement for a couple of years. I have no idea if anyone that has anything to do with scheduling at BU has eyes on this board.

Edit - especially now that Jimmy Miller has gone back to NW.
