Wisconsin has a lot of D3 schools and some pretty darn good D3 football.  I don't think SJU recruits WI too hard.

Most of these factors impact UST recruiting too. So do you think UST is just focussing more on WI?
Without knowing the details on these WI kids it could be those crossing the border are looking for a larger metropolitan setting.  Much of WI is rural, and if they like a more rural college setting they probably have more options closer to home.

It's focussing on areas that produce results for you. SJU has some good contacts with SoCal high schools. The Wiscy thing is what it is. As Duff said there is a place called Whitewater that picks the prime talent.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I believe the main draw for Wiscy kids to go to Minny to play football is at D2 or at a JUCO. From this last class at my local High School there is 1-D1 kid (Wisconsin), 4-D2 kids (UMD, Concordia-St. Paul, Winona, St. Cloud) and 2-JUCO kids (I forget where).

As Duff said there are D3 schools all over at this state at about 18 grand a year fully loaded tuition for the WIAC locations. The only kids from my local HS in the past few years that I can recall that played D3 in Minnesota went to CSS.

Now if SJU wants to throw in free deer hunting that might help attract a few more from Wiscy.  ::)

And you can open water and ice fish on campus. Bring a deer stand, Porta-Boat and pop-up fish house and you'll be all set.

18 grand. I can see how they can afford UST because it's so much cheaper than SJU. Wait a minute. No, that isn't true. Hmmm. How can St Glenn possibly attract talent to a school that costs twice what a school at home costs?  It's a darn mystery.

I heard that Stanley Blackburn will be running a complete investigation into this matter. Expect fines & suspensions to follow....

Johnnies don't transact with money...it's beneath them. They barter with livestock, daughters with child-bearing hips, and services rendered (lots of barn raising). You know, old school...

What parts of Wisconsin? All over or just the western part? I wonder if it would be different if Stout, Eau Claire and River Falls weren't currently entrenched in the bottom part of the conference.

Something tells me UST hits Green Bay and Milwaukee pretty hard on the way to/from recruiting visits in Chicagoland. Here's the breakdown:

Green Bay   37%
Milwaukee   37%
Eau Claire   5%
La Crosse   5%
Madison   5%
Racine   5%
Spooner   5%

n=19

Using head-to-head results I don't think either of those schools have missed the kids getting pulled west.

Considering head-to-head results, maybe SJU should follow UST's lead and start recruiting in Wisconsin...
