My son applied to and was accepted to both UST and SJU last year. UST was 5 grand a year cheaper. No special awards, just based on his grades and ACT. For 20 grand savings over 4 years he chose UST. Jim

Congratulations on your son's acceptance to UST! Wise choice, though some might call it a no-brainer. He has great taste and a bright future! Is he on the football team?

He is on the team but will be a school start this year. He loves being part of the team. We will see if he can progress this year and hopefully contribute in the future. Jim

I wonder if a number of MIAC schools would ever jump on board with full fledged NCAA sponsored D3 lacrosse. UST and SJU have much of the infrastructure in place with successful club teams. I suppose its unlikely given the budgetary constraints. You would have to add mens and womens programs and do some pretty significant out of conference travel to round out a schedule.
Augsburg added varsity women's lacrosse about 4 years ago and I recall Swenson announcing that we were the first MIAC school to add it at a varsity level. The only MIAC school currently on the schedule is Hamline. The ladies play a full schedule of teams from all over the midwest and as you said the travel is significant.

OK, so call me ready for the solar eclipse next Monday. Garage doors going up and down on their own. Domestic animals running wild in the streets.

Should be a good time.  8-)

Speaking of the eclipse, this one might rival the woman asking that the deer crossing be moved

I think Kubiak has been back five years now.  How time flies, eh?  It seems like it was only yesterday that some misguided Aussies were over there trying to convince him to follow the dirty, sniping, drug-cheating (and convicted) Essendon Bombers.

Speaking of Aussie rules... That same individual married a girl from Sydney and now roots for the Swans,  what a wanker

Switching teams?   Singing along to Justin Bieber songs is less humiliating.

I can see moving away from Essendon after the systemic doping fiasco, but to the Swines?  I'd just give up the game.

I'm looking to get the West Fan poll up and running again this year, and I have a few open spots available. Please send me a PM if you're interested in participating the season.

Thanks!
