I fell asleep in the third quarter, right about the time the game did as well.

Does anyone know the UST result?

Great game Cobbers.  I'm really looking forward to the last game of the season now.  It could be a big contest.

St. Thomas is leading 22-17 with about 5 minutes left, but Stout is in the Thomas half of the field.

Anybody been watching that game?  Is Stout just better than what we/I thought?  Is St. Thomas playing sloppy?  Combination of the two?

I think U$T isn't as good as advertised however Stout is a much better team than anybody expected. They held U$T 22 points....two of those points came on a safety...their defense looked good but I also think U$T might have one of those big, slow offensive lines.
The Tommie$ demonstrated they don't know how to handle a loss the way their defense ended that game...acting like a$$hole$ is about the only way to describe it. Victory formation and you blast the offensive line like that...somehow and for some reason I think that might be coached...pretty sad. Somebody should have got their ass ejected. Top it of w/ two other personal fouls in the second half that kept drives alive for Stout. It's not hockey but I guess it's a hat trick on playing cheap!

It was coached alright. I noticed on this board that UST allegedly blew up the victory formation at the end of the game but my streaming feed was delayed for some reason. So, fully aware of this I watched it unfold. After the first half-ass blow up, the UST Defense went to the sideline to talk it over with the coaches and came back out to the line of scrimmage.  Of course I had to watch because, like all of us on this board, I also saw them blow up the formation in the Stagg Bowl and I wanted to see if they would match that unscrupulous move. Well U$T did not only match it I think they surpassed it as I saw the QB go backwards about 4 yds.

Is that Leinies or Lucettes flowing in the streets of Menomonie?
;)

We may need to wait until tomorrow to get an answer from Bob, 57.

It might be time for UST's opponents to start practicing their cut blocks.  I'm sure old #91 would love an afternoon of those.  Unwise for UST's coaching staff to coach blowing up the V formation they just might find a few of their stars with knee problems.

It was very brave of the Tommies to schedule the last place and second to last place teams in the WIAC from last year.

Didn't get the chance to catch the UST game as I was in Lacrosse with family and friends but that's a rough one. From the stat sheet it looks like Jordan Roberts struggled to get traction. Adding Parks to the rushing attack in the next few weeks should be key.

My scan of the box sheet (I only saw the last minute and a half) tells me that undisciplined play cost the Tommies the game.  Stout brought their best no doubt, but the Tommies helped them as much as possible.  UST gave up nine penalties for 96 yards and granted Stout six (!!!) first downs on penalties.  Fully 1/3 of Stout's forward momentum was handed to them by poor Tommie discipline.

Ouch. Not great.

Looks like Schmitz had another FG blocked too. He needs to get some lift on his kicks or he's not going to last again.

I may miss the game tomorrow as we're having some friends and family over tonight for a nice dinner to celebrate #1's 18th and my 50th.

On Friday I was working from home and the wife returned from a long shopping trip when she came inside and asked for some help at the car.  "Ok.  Sigh.  I'm trying to work here."  And I walk out to the car to see my parents.  A sneak, one-week trip for the birthday celebrations.  Pretty good.

Happy Birthday Oz, hope that this is going to be a grand celebration...
Everyday is payday in paradise.
