Didn't get the chance to catch the UST game as I was in Lacrosse with family and friends but that's a rough one. From the stat sheet it looks like Jordan Roberts struggled to get traction. Adding Parks to the rushing attack in the next few weeks should be key.
I think it might be the o-line...they're big but look slow and not very athletic.

Today is not the day to wear red around town. The Ducks are playing Nebraska at home! 8-) ;D

Go Big Red!
:P

I've often wondered how you got over 1100 smites, bennie. I've been posting here a long time and I can't  remember you being that fiesty. It must have been Tommies with no sense of humor.

By the way, I would like to say thank you and congratulations to the Johnnie AV guys and Stretch.  It's been great this year and much appreciated.  I've had hardly any buffering I can remember (a couple times, but passed) and the HD is nice.

It think the Tommie game in two weeks will put the servers to the test, though.

Congrats BDB and your team!  Taking down the Tommies in style.

And the Tommies losing in style as well!  A flury of personal fouls to finish in style, including the traditional charging of the victory formation.  Good job, Tommies.  Quite a reputation you're building at that F.A.M.I.L.Y.!!!

At least the Tommies had the balls to schedule teams that could give them a game.  I hear St. Michael-Albertville high school has an open date for next year - lets get coach Fasching their phone number.

I'm sure a competitive game is exactly what UST was after when they scheduled this. I can hear it now....Caruso -what would the most competitive game we could possibly schedule out of the WIAC be?  Admin-   I hear UWO has an open date that weekend. - Caruso No, UWO wouldn't be too big of a challenge, I think Stout is the dark horse this year. We should probably schedule them. They will give us the best test to get ready got the MIAC grind. -admin You're right, at UST were all about scheduling the best of the best.

Man, congrats to the Cobbers on a huge victory. And the Tommies for keeping it close against Stout.

I presume the abundance of smites that the few Tommies brave enough to show their faces here receive are from Johnnies with no sense of humor.

Could be. Trettel has had better success in his carries though and Roberts looked a bit tentative early last week.

For the record I did not, nor I would not, smite Bennie.  Heck, she's from Slayton...

I'm working on it. I need to up my "har har Johnnies are hicks" game.

And it's more important to focus on the ratios, which shows that the Johnnie smokefest is alive and well here.

First of all jam, +k From me. I told USTBench today that over the years, the best visiting fans I have seen have been from the MIAC. (Bethel students #1  :) )

Thank you USTBench for accepting my invitation and spending the day. You never know what relationships bring in the future.

Reading some of these posts, I wonder if people think that UST played the little sisters of the poor. Well they didn't. They played a WIAC team used to tough competition and while having had a few tough years maybe has improved. Big time.

You don't think these Stout coaches feel the heat and recruit/work harder? If your job is to defeat Whitewater, Platteville, Oshkosh, La Crosse, Stevens Point and every other team in the league and you are just going to take it is what's happening here and your team is going to waltz in here and play average and win?

Nope. UW-Stout is a team that has been successful in the past. They are on the rise and will be tough to beat in the future. It's not a free pass. Why anyone has thought that hasn't really paid attention.

These are my thoughts. UST is a very good team. UWST is on their way. D3 relationships are awesome.

Right back at ya. Congrats on the win. I was at the game last year and Stout had a decent showing. Good to see teams rise up to the competition and add an extra challenge. Maybe we'll see that in the MIAC with Hamline, Concordia... maybe Olaf? Kind of bummed that Bethel looks to be struggling.

We've got some kinks to work out and need to avoid the stupid penalties as usual, but I've got to keep my optimism and believe we can knock off the Johnnies (clear favorite now?) and make a run.
