So I just read that they've sold nearly 35K tickets for this game. Target Field has a capacity of 39.5K. With game day sales, including additional student tickets, this could be a sellout.

Link?  Can I have a read too?

I think he probably got it from here...

Yep. I wonder how many unaffiliated folks will buy tickets on game day. I hear the Twins, UST (WCCO), and SJU are marketing this pretty hard outside the typical alumni channels.

The author of the piece looks as if he would be carded at a Wheaton College root beer kegger  ::)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Anyone have an idea on how much money this game will bring in from ticket sales, concession stands, program sales, etc.?

I am not sure what to make of this game on Saturday.  SJU has been feasting and fattening up on cupcakes for the past three weeks and have proven nothing.  UST's offensive line, against Stout, looked like the Achilles' heel of this 2017 team.  The secondary lacks speed, the receivers lack speed and Jordan Roberts looks pretty ordinary.  This will either be a Tommie victory by a touchdown or a SJU victory by three touchdowns.

It is also great to see that Joey Eckhoff is getting some playing time at SJU.  He was a tremendous athlete for Northfield and was the best receiver in the Big 9 his Jr. and Sr. year.  He took a naked screen to the right against a very strong Owatonna defense and took it 70 yards for a touchdown.  That was one of those plays that when the ball was in the air, you could see the touchdown.

My key indicators of where the game is going:

* Johnnie O against the blitz and stunt crazy Tommie D.  Can we hack the pressure?  Can the speed of our receivers and backs make the Tommies pay a price for their high pressure defensive tendencies?

* Tommie D against themselves.  Can they had the pressure?  Will it be a personal foul Bonanza with #91 playing Hoss?

* Tommie O against the rock hard, fast Johnnie D.  Will the Jays stiffle the run?  Can the Tommies pull their passing game together in response?

And will special teams go unnoticed?  Will a punting error make the difference?  I hope not.  Unless it's a Tommie error, then that's fine.

Explaining a play that involved Speed and Velocity is this:
For us Tommies its - Velocity as a Vector Quantity
For you Johnnies its - people running fast.

Also, it occurred to me that this one game will make the Tommie season the best they have ever had attendance-wise.  Last year they pulled just over 25k (12k from the Johnnie game).  So add another 10k-15k to this game and Tommies will have 45k+ fans this year, enough to boost them to second or third on the list.

Of course, the Johnnies should just claim two positions.  Our first place and wherever the Tommies finish up.

Should we count asses in seats or victories?

Victories, losses.  Count whichever you like.  How many do the Tommies have this year?

You're beating us in losses, so chin up.  It ain't all bad.

Prior to the St. Olaf game, I don't think I'd heard his name, but with Clark out, he got some reps and really took advantage.  I think we'll be seeing more of him.
