Uh oh, students are going to have to walk all the way to the concourse to get their alcohol:

"Alcohol: Will be sold at the game. However, walking vendors selling alcohol won't make trips through either of the two student sections."
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

The left field endzone really hugs the wall.
https://twitter.com/TwinsPics/status/910618603938025472

Left field, second tier will be the best seats in the house it looks like.  Right up in the action.  Midfield will be pretty far away.  And I think the stands fall away quite dramatically behind home plate.  But front row in the second tier of left field will practically be hanging over the field of play.  That will be quite a view.

And yes, the back of the endzone catches will be limited in left field.  I imagine it's the same behind home plate or they would put a little space between the end line and the fence.

But still, it looks pretty frickin' glorious.  For a DIII game at that.

EDIT: The best pic of the field from that twitter post.  Click to embiggen.

EDIT II:  When I embiggened that picture I noticed that one of the bottom tier left field seats was partly folded up.   And there is plenty of space behind the end zone at the home plate end.  I think they are folding up the bottom tier so there is some space there for the players.  The left field second tier seats will really be a treat.  Nothing beneath that front row seat but playing surface.

EDIT III:  And Minneapolis is looking really good in that picture.  A beautiful stadium.  And I can see the IDS building still stands out.  I can't see the Foshay Tower.  When I was a little tike we lived in Mpls and I loved the observation deck up there.  I have memories of throwing a penny off, but I think it was really just my dad daring me to do it and my mom reacting in horror at the thought.  It's morphed into a memory of it happening.
I believe you Oz, and I have the scar on my head to prove it!

In other news, KARE 11 released this story yesterday: http://www.kare11.com/news/health/tackle-cancer/augsburg-football-players-fight-with-cancer/477452049
Thanks Art for posting this. The guy is all over the field as one of the starting inside linebackers so I would say he is feeling just fine these days!

Also, it occurred to me that this one game will make the Tommie season the best they have ever had attendance-wise.  Last year they pulled just over 25k (12k from the Johnnie game).  So add another 10k-15k to this game and Tommies will have 45k+ fans this year, enough to boost them to second or third on the list.

Of course, the Johnnies should just claim two positions.  Our first place and wherever the Tommies finish up.

Should we count asses in seats or victories?

By scheduling this game it would appear asses in seats!

Is there truth to the "word on the street" that UST is not receiving any gate or concession revenue from this game?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Is anyone else ready for the game to be over?

I think they settled on a one time payment equivalent to what U$T typically makes on this game. The plus in this for U$T is that they don't have to manage anything...security, concessions...however they don't get to show off their campus w/ a full house in the stadium.

I wouldn't know the details, but kind of an interesting exercise to do the math.  I'd bet they agreed to a flat fee that would approximate what they would have gotten for a regular Tommie Johnnie home game, plus a bonus.  Say that would have been based on 12,500 attending, at say $5 a head for an average ticket and another $5 a head for concessions.   Throw in a bonus  of I don't know, $75k?  Maybe $200k to UST, back of the envelope?  Twins sell 33k tickets, after freebies, at say an average of $30 per, plus I don't know, another $20 per person for concessions, beer, parking?  That would put the gross gate at $1.65 million.  Throw on top of that the sponsor rights from Oppidian for $100k?  Some money to St John's too of course, say $75k plus expenses.  Twins clear about $1.45 million before operating expenses.

To be honest, I'm a little nervous about this game. It's the seemingly potent, yet heretofore largely unchallenged, Johnnies versus the uncharacteristically error-prone Tommies. If we lose, I'll have to take solace in the fact that we're classier. I hope we win.

I heard they're going to do some promos before the game from UST's Minneapolis campus, which is close to Target Field. That's where the new Dougherty College is based. Maybe they're angling to attract future athletes to Dougherty who will transfer to UST proper.  ;)

My Twins sales source says Tommies are cashing in.  All suites sold out.  34k tickets sold.

Home team but neutral location:
http://www.tommiemedia.com/news/target-field-to-host-seventh-tommie-johnnie-game-at-neutral-location/

And a Tommie Opinion that the game shouldn't be played at Target Field:
http://www.tommiemedia.com/featured-news/opinion-why-tommie-johnnie-at-target-field-is-a-mistake/

Hard to disagree with his opinion, but you just can't turn down that money or exposure.

Part of me wonders, if, instead of building the beautiful people catwalk bleachers, or, in-addition-to, building those bleachers, if UST wouldn't have been better served building a smaller, permanent, grandstand on the visitors side.
