There was a nice contingent of GAC fans in the stands at the Augsburg game (between 1/3-1/2 in the stands)
Nice! Enjoying the highly diverse and culturally significant Cedar Riverside area, well done!  If I recall correctly the parking was limited for that game by the big crowd at Augsburg for the Noble Peace Prize Forum. http://nobelpeaceprizeforum.org/live/

Congrats to NW and GAC fans for being so brave as to conquer such death defying feats as: finding a parking spot; alone and without your driver and avoiding a mugging by phantom hoodlums that don't exist.

The Auggie campus gets a bit of a bad rap. There is more violence against students across the river on the east bank at the U. I would be a little more nervous in or around the Hamdogs campus.

Old Auggie, what's the plans for all the construction happening on campus? I've been in the new student center and that is a very nice facility. The new buildings are giving it the look of a well thought out urban, college campus.

From the game this past week, I will say I was very impressed with Auggies QB.  As a surprise to no one UST brought heat constantly and between his size and agility, he managed it as well as could be expected. There were a couple of big time throws made on the run. The Auggie D was more or less what it has been for the last 5-6 years I have seen. There were a lot of holes. I will be curious to see if the SJU offense has a rebound game, because I am guessing Auggie's offense will pull out a couple of nice offensive series in the game.
The construction will be a game changer for Augsburg when complete. When you read the link it mentions the green space extending from the new Hagfors Center (the construction you mentioned) to Murphy Square Park and Edor Nelson Field. To open it up they will tear down the Science Building (the tired old building across the street from the construction) which will open up a green corridor to Murphy Park and the football field. It will be a great addition to the campus and change the location of the center of Augsburg with the new Urban Landscape Gardens, some ponds and legit urban green space. I have seen the long range plan which includes extending the green corridor through Edor Nelson Field with trees to a Parking ramp with retail shops which would be built on the space where the current big lot next to the football stadium sits. Not sure where they will get that money though.

Looks dangerous. No way I'd step foot in that gulag.

I really hope St John's can have a bounce-back game where everything is clicking for them! After the last two weeks, they could definitely use it & the momentum it would bring! Will be rooting for Concordia-Moorhead to upset St Thomas to give St John's a shot at a share of the conference title.

I think a victory by Concordia vs. UST would leave you on the outside looking in come playoff time; even if you were to beat Concordia. But if you want your little share of the MIAC title, I guess this is something to aspire to.

I don't think a one loss SJU team is left out of playoffs. UST with 2 losses would be on the bubble, but would probably get in.

Zip,
Long time buddy. Are you coming to Homecoming with authentic Chicago Polish sausage?

A two loss UST would be on very thin ice. If SJU were to beat Concordia on November 11, making a 3-way MIAC tie. Concordia would get in and if history has any say, SJU would get in. The in region loss to Stout would most likely doom UST,even as a co-champion of the MIAC and winning a close game over SJU.

There is a lot of football to be played, but if the MIAC would shake out like that, the Stout loss would be huge. The MIAC would not get 3 teams in.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I concur. I think the only thing that would get a 2 loss UST jn the conversation is if Stout wins out in the WIAC to take their automatic bid. I don't see that as likely.

105-no, I will be in Bemidji to see my son play rugby. Maybe I can get up there for a playoff game if that happens.

A 3 way tie at 7-1 would go down to point differential between the tied teams.  Platteville got in with 2 losses last year.  The WIAC and CCIW runner-up might have two losses this year.

For anyone interested in owning a nice souvenir from the Tommie-Johnnie game, these just went on sale at the UST campus bookstore:

That's one heck of a sight.  Shame about the purple border.  ;)
