Really?  Academic bowl?  That's what we decide to poison these pages with?  I thought/hoped it would die yesterday.

At least it's more relevant to this continent than Australian footy.

Feel free to go off topic all you like in the off season. It's the frickin PLAYOFFS this week, ffs.

Something tells me the Johnnie Smokefest is on the wane. They should make the Smokefest great again. More winning would help...

Rutter is the best QB SJU will have faced all year, by some margin. NCC over SJU by 13.

*head out, shuts door*

Clark will be the fastest football player your team sees this season by some margin (legit 4.2, 4.3 guy, and not those made up stopwatch 38 yard dashes either) For some reason though, the John's just don't want to give him the ball too much. 3-4 touches a game tops.

They have a nice weapon in their TE. The running game leaves a lot to be desired. Their QB can be either really hot or really cold, and he wears pop warner shoulder pads. The defense is legitimately a Top 10 D3 defense. They flow sideline to sideline very well. They have a susceptibility to give up some small chunks up the gut (not that big) and get beat on the deep ball from time to time.

I don't see the John's getting beat by 13 by many teams. The D keeps them in games. NCC may win, but I suspect the margin will be <10 if they do.

This is the rival 1 minute scouting report for you.

If he is 4.2 and doesn't touch the ball, how will NCC see him? Even more, if he does touch the ball, how will they see him? Serious conundrum

I heard the TE is hurt? Any update? If he isn't playing I am sure we won't know on here.....

I am working on some analysis on this game and will post my thoughts probably tomorrow on the CCIW board.

As I stated in an earlier post, I don't think all the Tommies boomerangs came back (whatever the hell that means)!
Go Johnnies and go Raiders!

Pera at UST is pretty good. Would be surprised if your guy is that much better. Likely he hasn't seen a defense as strong as SJU.

Let's put all this talk of ACT scores and football talk aside for a just a moment.  We need to address something serious and sinister that has been going on around here for the past couple of days.  This has the potential to cause irreparable harm to a well-documented relationship.  So let's get into it.

I was of the understanding that the Johnnies and Linfield had formed a tight and exclusive relationship.  And then we find out that the Johnnies are flirting back and forth with Mount Union?

1)  Do the Wildcats know about this?
2)  Is this some sort of pre-playoff fling?
3)  Does this have the making of a three-way?
4)  Is this what they call "slummin it?"

If the Wildcats don't know about this, well then, Hell have no fury like a Wildcat scorned.

I mean geez "Go Johnnies and Go Raiders."  Get a stadium press box already.

Come back, please!  Anything to change the conversation. Even these delusional ramblings of yours.

It worked (even if only briefly)!
You win! You always do!

If a tree falls in the forest  ;D I get where you are going. Seriously though, if you have a kicker who can hit the touchbacks, that will take away his special teams touches. After that he is good for a handful of targets with a bubble screen or two and a couple of fly and slant routes. Bracket him over the top, as there aren't other weapons, especially if the TE is out.

Looking forward to watching from afar! Should be a fantastic game.

You mean the routine of incessant trolling coupled with jealous arrogance isn't attractive?  Color me surprised, Tommies.

I don't know about that. Pretty sure I know how most gals would react if their guy brought around someone clearly better in every conceivable way. I mean, Linfield and SJU have been together forever, but MUC, I mean, WOW! Hard to turn that down. Alliance, Ohio is the Carnation City and home to the restored Glamorgan Castle! McMinnville is just the place to get drunk on craft beer made by bearded hippies in sandals who brag about being an extra in "Goonies."
