I could care less about predictions for these games as the only thing that matters is what happens tomorrow, but I do find it interesting the different views on two teams that were only separated by three points during the season.  I need to remind myself that this is only D3 and wonder how much the "experts" really know.

They were three points apart in the regular season, boys of fall, but one is facing the CCIW champ on the road and the other has the UMAC champ at home. Of course the predictions will reflect that.

But if you only read this message and not the actual piece, you missed that everyone thinks it will be close -- nobody predicted SJU to lose by more than four.

Thumbs up, Pat. I try hard not to regurgitate synopses if I provide the URLs. I figure those interested enough will go to the source.

Those who want to hate on it without reading it won't be so easily dissuaded!

I haven't quite surmised why people take the predictions so personally.

There were reports of a few heart attacks down in TX over how UMHB slighted for the overall playoff picture earlier in the week. Its a handful of individuals who all likely have a much better picture, of the larger macro D3 lens than most of us, giving their best guesses as to what will happen. And, a lot of the time the picks are based more on the road ahead for any given team and less on how good they are as a team. I would guess if tomorrows game were played in Collegeville you would see the predictions flip. Its the type of game that likely has the 2-3 point home field spread associated with it.

For those interested, I posted my analysis of the St Johns @ North Central game on the CCIW board.

Johnnie

Hey, I am going to be in Mpls tomorrow.

Anybody know if there the game is being telecast and if there is a Johnnie gathering to watch it?

:) :)

As I am looking forward to the playoffs, I realize that I should take a minute to look back as well. Congratulations to all of the MIAC football teams for completing the 2017 season. May any injuries heal quickly and good luck with finals! :D

So glad I don't have finals anymore!! 8-)

The SJU/NCC game should be of particular interest to all MIAC followers. UST is going to win big against an inexperienced opponent, end of story. But the question looming, is the MIAC still one of the top conferences and UST, SJU, and somewhat CM have separated themselves or have the rest really faded and the conference is beginning to border on mediocrity or slightly below? The scores and several non-conf. games seem to trend toward digression of MIAC . A healthy SJU (10+ pts) victory will support the prior. Heavy SJU loss supports the latter, which for future seedings is good for nobody. A close game either way, at least keeps us all guessing. Wishing both teams nice runs! May we meet again in Salem!

Amen on finals!

Going to be pulling for both the Johnnies and the Tommies tomorrow, though I doubt UST will need any good vibes.

Really looking forward to the SJU - NC game...hoping that it lives up to the billing of being a barn burner.
