From what I understand, UMHB is currently looking for a non-conference game for the next couple of years. Coach Fredenburg has shown he will play anyone, anytime and anywhere. Who knows?

September non-conference game in TX might be a little hot for our bunch. Book JerryWorld and you've got yourself a deal.
When Linfield came last year, it was HOT and those Oregon boys suffered. I felt bad for them.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

OldAuggie, I really want to get into MIAC hockey, but have always had a hard time. It's rare to find an 18-19 year old freshman in the MIAC anymore. All the schools have gone the east coast / St Norbert's route of bringing in the 20+ year old jr hockey guys with receding hair lines.  They go the jr route in hopes of chasing D1 dreams and then land in the MIAC as 20 or 21 year old freshman, with little connection with other athletes on campus or the school itself.
Everything you say is true I agree and I can understand your opinion but I am guessing that the schools with the on-campus arenas are more connected. The MIAC is an old league these days and if a freshman does not have at least 2 years Jr. experience (or 20 yrs old) they will have a hard time making the team. D2 hockey doesn't exist anymore so you see good hockey at this level with a couple borderline D1 players.  The Auggie baseball team is very connected to the hockey team and they form a legit cheering section for the hockey team at home games. I have seen the hockey players come over to the baseball team during the game and acknowledge them and it sure looks like they appreciate it.

I'm excited to check out Hamline next year when they move to the upper level of the downtown St Paul Macy's building. I drive by that construction every day on my way to work and have been following the progress for a while now.

If Hamline didn't have a track around their football field they might have the best set of facilities in the state.  Love Hutton Arena and being in both CHS field and the Wild rink will be impressive.

Hutton Arena is cool. I really love the view of the Midway Hotel from the football field as well, reminds me to not do meth.

Motel man. Get your terminology right.

The wife and I have had jokes about that place as long as we've been married, with faux plans to spend our honeymoon or anniversaries there. Now that I work in banking and have underwritten a lot of hotels, I've probably seen worse. Can't be so bad. Right?

By the way. one of the fun places to stay in Belton is a little inn not too far from the campus, it has light fixtures in the shower...I mean as in switches... int he shower... When the lights go down I seem to see a faint glow of a Bates Motel neon sign but I could be wrong. So save yourselves and head to Temple for great lodging and you don't have to fear electrocution while bathing.

Yeah, not to mention the transformers, wires and train yard adjacent to their facilities. If you are at a game and a train goes by you can't even hear the P.A. system.

We've talked before - both graduated in 1957 from our respective schools. Like your last post.
I would leave out the : fishing, hunting, hockey and that other stuff. That would leave only the beer!
Damn, we older guys have our priorities straight. I knew I liked you from the start.
Go Johnnies (OK, next year). And, I'll just slip in a Go Raiders.
........ but I can't believe I forgot pickelball.   :)

I will have to go see a game there this year before they move.

I watched the game on Saturday with my 7 year old daughter and 3 year old nephew (or at least, they were in the room for part of the game, but mostly distracted by kid things). I just got a message from my brother, who is an ISU grad and avid Cyclone fan that my nephew just started singing, "Let's go Tommies, let's go!" and then informed them that "I only like the Tommies and Paw Patrol!"

I guess I made quite the impression (or more accurately, my daughter did, as she was leading that cheer at random times throughout the day). Looks like the canonization cause for St Glenn will be expedited upon his death, as the F.A.M.I.L.Y culture spreads across this great nation. Tomorrow, my co-workers and I will be meeting outside the bank doors to hold hands and walk into work together as a united front.

That does sound like a great venue and it should help hockey recruiting for Hamline.

St Thomas feature article is up, highlighting the painful number 8. I cringe every time I am reminded of that Oshkosh loss from last year, but it seems the team has used it as motivation.

Well, it looks like we've got no players with felony warrants. So we've got that going for us, which is nice.

IT's cliche, but this comes down to the trenches. Can the Cru O and DLine stifle the Tommie surge? How will our true Freshman QB fair against this top of the line defense? We'll see.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!
