The Tommies didn't have the playmakers like they've had in the past.... JMO! When we played u guys you had running backs qbs and receivers that were WAY above average.  :'(

You're right Blue, not like that year. Hopefully for UST's sake it's just a matter of a little more strength and maturity, because they are all back next year.

Agreed.  Come on down, Gabe Green.  Parks and Trettle are both back next year too.  Parks has the speed and moves to break the long one, but was a bit nicked up this year.

Gabe Green turned himself into big time player this year and has two years of eligibility remaining. Tom Loeffler demonstrated enough versatility to get reps at RB and WR as a freshman, and probably made the most athletic play of the year against Eureka. Vinny Pallini is only a sophomore and contributed in some big spots. Trettel and Parks are coming back as well.

No, UST doesn't have a Waldvogel, but they do have enough playmakers with enough experience to find themselves in the Stagg Bowl next year.

UST did have SOME success running the ball against UMHB without the better of our two RBs, Parks and Molina combined for 100 yards on 26 carries. The pass rush for UMHB, of course, being the great equalizer in that game.

Anyway, the majority of the skill position threats on O are returning and that was good enough to go undefeated in the MIAC again. They only stand to improve. And the MIAC champion any given year is usually good enough to reach the quarters or semis.

As far as skill positions are concerned, UST needs to replace some unbelievable talent at TE, but that has not been a problem in the recent past.

Not sure I agree with prior post that IWU beats CWRU if circumstances with weather was different.  I actually think everyone wants to believe N Central and IWU are better than they are and in reality Case just had a good team this year and would have beat NC as well. If the weather was better it may been a bigger differential in the score. W&J is not
Of the same caliber team as Case this year so no way should they be ranked higher than Case. . I saw both Frostburg and Case play Mount and Case was much better foe than Frostburg.  Not a CWRU dad, player or alum. Just saw a bunch of football this year and believe the conference was over rated and Case proved this point.  I think you just lost focus and started selecting with your heart more than your head.  And I totally get that which is why I had Mount #1
Agree on the comparison with CWRU.

Yea, at the presser it was acknowledged that the coaching staff "forgot about him"  ??? meaning what exactly.....? How do you forget about the fastest as well as one of the most electrifying talents in the MIAC.......

Ouch.

I know I did. Only 4 touches in the UST game. 1 for a 40 yard TD. Don't even have to worry about him anymore. Sad.

Tough news out of UST. Best of luck to Rachael Caruso in her battle against cancer. Reusse has the details... https://t.co/Fi4twnbQXl

Thanks for sharing. I heard of this during this years playoff run. Was curious if they would stay semi-private or go public at some point.  It's one of those that stops you in your tracks as a parent of young kids. You want to grow old and set your kids on a path to adulthood.

While it's a serious diagnosis, there are some good treatment options. The optimism and strength of the Caruso family will go a long way. The UST and coaching communities have rallied around them the last month.

Prayers to the Caruso family!
