Tough news out of UST. Best of luck to Rachael Caruso in her battle against cancer. Reusse has the details... https://t.co/Fi4twnbQXl

Thanks for sharing. I heard of this during this years playoff run. Was curious if they would stay semi-private or go public at some point.  It's one of those that stops you in your tracks as a parent of young kids. You want to grow old and set your kids on a path to adulthood.

While it's a serious diagnosis, there are some good treatment options. The optimism and strength of the Caruso family will go a long way. The UST and coaching communities have rallied around them the last month.

Prayers to the Caruso family!
Ditto, last October I also was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer (this sounds like something a little different than what I had since I had surgery first and then they determined that I did not need chemo).  To everyone out there male or female if you are 50 or over and have not had a colonoscopy get it.  It is not fun but my nagging wife saved my life.

Prayers to you as well JM, in your path to recovery. Don't know the details but I think this is stage 3 rectal.

Your PSA is important too JM. The colonoscopy is one of the most important preventive medical appointments you can make.

Same here. October, 1999 my first colonoscopy detected cancer. Surgery 2 days later for remove and resect. No chemo or radiation due to early detection. Get your colonoscopy.
Prayers and encouragement to Caruso family.

Prayers to the Caruso family..I certainly share your sorrow. My companion of 24.years died July 10 from pancreatic cancer. She had stage 4 so it was more serious than what you are dealing with. Hopefully treatment will help her and cure her of this disease. Keep the faith.

Merry Christmas!  I'm sitting home with a 4-year old who has puked at least a dozen times since she got up.  :-\ My Christmas wish is that this bug doesn't cycle through the rest of the family!
