Yeah, I paid my bill of $424 for 4 seats the other day.  Sheesh.  The problem is that if you don't renew them, you lose your seats and it takes a long time to get back into decent seats.  I let mine lapse for a few years, and once we took the plunge again, we were in garbage seats for several seasons.  We're finally with several of our friends (also with young kids), so it's very nice that the kids can keep each other from getting bored and we have friends with us, but each time I get the bill, I cringe a little.  But having guaranteed, good seats and a good seating arrangement makes it worth it (or so I tell myself).

Yeah, that's why at UST we try to keep our attendance down to a manageable number (except for our premium games) We want to make sure everyone has plenty of elbow and leg room.  ;D

I wonder how many college football programs charge their former players to go to games.   I think most places figure they'd get more via donation than the tickets are worth if they can get alums to the game.  I suppose it makes more sense at St. John's considering the larger number of football alumni.

Former players, players' parents, heck, they probably charge the monks.  :o

I have no problem paying for admission/reserved seats, but prices continue to climb, and what are those increases paying for?  Not playoff wins, that's for sure.

I got my SJU ticket renewal invoice today with mention of "6 home games including a premium game."  Hmm...

Just getting around to following up on this -- just for fun, according to my cabin spending "spreadsheet", Johnnie season ticket costs since 2008 (for two tickets):

08 - $80
09 - $80
10 - $120
11 - $140
12 - $120
13 - $132
14 - $140
15 - $170
16 - $170
17 - $192
18 - $212

No editorial comment at this point.  We initially sprung for season tickets so we didn't have to stop by Clemens early and tie down our blanket.  $80 seemed cheap.  Then we got the chance to get reserved seats, so we went for it.  I'm gonna guess that's when we bumped from $80 to $120.  Still climbing . . .
Yes, having my seats on the 50 yard line is very nice & I won't be giving them up any time soon, but there was a time as pointed out above where the season tickets were just a couple of bucks more than general admission. Now, the season ticket cost is double what general admission is. I'm not bitching,I'm just stating facts. I would rather watch a game at SJU than SCSU any day of the week.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Hey, cool, Auggie! It appears you figured out how to search twitter for Auggie commits. This kid is a nice looking player. He's fast, quick first step, wraps up and runs through the ball. Nearly every tackle is fundamentally text book between the knees and the waist. He has potential to be a good one for the Auggies!

Inspired by Auggie, I decided to try a twitter search using #gojohnnies and #SJUfootball. FYI, SJ2 folks, your boy Damien is doing a bang up job! SJ2 is getting some Rockstars for commits! Obviously, being a Tommie faithful, I am not going to post them but I will tip my hat to your staff on a fine job recruiting. Check it out!

Yep, we know. I get his updates nearly daily with the fine student athletes that are committing to SJU.

A fun little breakdown of statistical leaders across NCAA divisions to keep our football minds rolling in the offseason. No surprise that UST defense features prominently.

But are they "Very Blessed", "Extremely Blessed" or just "Blessed" there is a difference.

Both the Offensive and Defensive Players of the year for the Chicago North Shore Area are headed to UST! I am sure Wally loves this A-Rod kid. He hits like a freight train!
