As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

An AMAZING EASTER CLASSIC!  Another for the ages between these two colossus teams and this time the Hawks are victorious by one point, 118-117.  Phenomenal game.  A crowd of 73k brought a mighty roar and great atmosphere.

The last two minutes (I've just returned from the hospital after having a pacemaker installed):

Whew.  it was as intense as the overtime victory against the Tommies in Collegeville about five years ago.  Real heart attack stuff.

(#3 was disappointed, but she's only seen the Hawks beat the Cats twice in the Easter Monday classic.  All the other games have ended in heartache for me so I think she'll recover.

I heard on the radio coming home that the Hawks and Cats have played 25 times since 2007 and 15 of those game have been decided by less than 12 points.  Additionally, 10 of those close games have been decided by less than 6 points.  It's a heck of a rivalry.  It sure keeps the adrenaline flowing.)

You just had a pacemaker installed? Wow, that's heavy. Hope you are doing well. You!re one of the good guys on these boards. Best to ya, your Hawks and your Johnnies.  ☠🇷🇴

Wait a minute! I just realized that may have been a facetious remark about the pacemaker because of the closeness of the game. Help me out here, Oz.
Remember, I'm old I get mixed up and I forget things.

Hey, OZ, I'm hoping the "Pacemaker" thing was just an illustration of the intensity of the moment/game and not a for real thing. If it is for real, blessings to you as you are very much so one of the good guys on here despite being an SJ2 faithful  ;D.

OzJohnnie

No, not a real pacemaker. Just hyperbole about the heart attack game.

Whew! Glad you're OK. I think hyperbole was what I got once in the Air Force. I got some powder and had to boil  my uniform. Maybe I have that confused with something else. Never was good at medical terms.
I know both myself and MiacMan are relieved. ☠🇷🇴🏉

I recommend liberal doses of brandy until it melts :)

And I have to add this one in as in my search for a BDB gif I found this one that reminded me of janesvilleflash and the plow/blower/melter he most likely had.  Or if he never did own this one then I bet his spirit inspired it.  Communion of Saints, bah.  This is the communion of flash.

The AFL season launch video should be interesting to long-suffering Vikings fans.  This video is largely the personal growth journey (*barf*) of the Richmond coach on taking the team from perennial disappointments to Premiers.

But the first 20 seconds.  Gold. That caller into a radio sports shows is a legend in football fan feedback. And that guy would sit right at home with Vikes supporters.  We do not suffer alone.

Just spent 5 weeks here in Boston with a new co-worker who lives in Melbourne and is a HUGE Richmond fan.  He spent most of the 5 weeks explaining to me the AFL, rules and how they had just won the last Premiership.

Did your new colleague say Richmond just won THE last premiership or THEIR last premiership?  Your mate is likely to be in a nursing home before Richmond threaten to take the flag again.  :)

Actually, the Tiger army has been very entertaining in victory. Very loyal and long suffering.  Extremely passionate and, surprisingly, not too arrogant in victory. 40 years of choking and letdown has built a caution reflex in Tiger supporters that looks a lot like humility.  Anyway, I'm happy for your mate. Richmond fans deserved this one.

I'll be sure to ask him... He did mention they had years of suffering (we are both in our 40's and I'm from Cincinnati, so I know what suffering is).
