I will be back next week to get this conversation on the right track.

I was thinking about janesvilleflash the other day for some reason too, Oz. Above is the last post he made, almost 5 years ago.

And I have to add this one in as in my search for a BDB gif I found this one that reminded me of janesvilleflash and the plow/blower/melter he most likely had.  Or if he never did own this one then I bet his spirit inspired it.  Communion of Saints, bah.  This is the communion of flash.

OldAuggie-
I'm helping coach the youth wrestling program that my 6-year old is involved in.  Last night, we had a guest coach in to run practice, and he's an Auggie (I threw up a little in my mouth).  His name is Orlando Ponce, and from what I gather, he was pretty good.  I thought he did a great job with the kids!

A tradition unrivaled...

That is fantastic  Coach Duffman.  Ponce is still part of the Auggie staff and yeah you have it right; he was good, one of many but he was good. I like what he is doing with youth wrestling, another great contribution by Ponce. He is #19 in the the top 50 all time Auggie wrestlers, counted down this season on Facebook.

How come SJ2 doesn't include any of that "baby blue" in their football uniforms? Or any blue whatsoever? Aren't technically the Johnnie colors Red and Navy? Just curious to see if anyone has an answer to this phenomenon?

I get a charge out of the U$T faithful referring to the Johnnies as SJ2. I know why it's done but it's just funny.
Go Raiders, go Johnnies, go Tommies. In fact, go Everyone! How's that for not playing favorites?

I thought I had read about this years ago on the Johnnie sports website but I can't find the reference now and can't remember any details.

Most Johnnie sports do incorporate the cardinal and blue.  The story that John G. told us is that way back when, he was getting new uniforms for the football team, and it was more expensive to order red and blue than just red and white, so he stuck with the cheaper option, and it's just stayed that way.  Now, John likes to spin a good yarn, so I'm not sure if that's the truth or not, but that's how he explained it to me.

After defeating The Ohio State University, the Bulldogs now go for it all.

That's awesome! Classic John! I could actually hear John (in his voice and it started with an "ahh s**t") saying that as I read your post Duff. If that's John's doing I would see no reason to ever change it. Funny, whenever I watch you guys play now I will be thinking of that story and probably passing it on. Thanks for sharing. I got more out that question than I anticipated, John G. stories are priceless. In the words of MUC57, Go Tommies! Go Johnnies! Go Raiders! Hell, Go Everyone!  ;D
