Hope your sister in Green Bay is OK! A little harder to deal with that kind of weather as we age. I guess you and I know a little about that. Wow, sounds like a ton of snow up there.
Also hope BlueDevil Bob is alright. Don't really know where Menomonie is, but since you brought it up, they must have received a bit also. BDB, let's hear from ya!
We were lucky in Alliance, just got some rain. Had a tornado warning for awhile, but nothing happened. Maybe God is a Raider fan. OK, maybe not.
Best to everyone. ☠🇷🇴

Menominee is on Lake Michigan, at the Michigan/Wisconsin border.  They got 24.5 inches of the white stuff!

Here in Ypsilanti, we got an ice storm, 300,000+ in Michigan lost power, but we lucked out - our power went out just long enough to say "O, sh!t" and went back on in about 3 minutes! ;D

I am SO_O_O done with winter! >:(

I hope not, our senior Daughter will likely attend UW Stout this fall and last time I was there Menomonie WI was about an hour and change east of the Twin Cities, right off 94. Would be a longer ride back home for her I guess but if they have decided to move the school to Menominee on the Coast of Lake Michigan, so be it. I wish they would communicate that to someone over here in MN. #frustrated #outofstate #reciprocity$ #newbluedevilfan #2chancestobeatsju

Good news on the injury front, Hawthorn fans.  Cyril Rioli is out for 5-6 weeks with a medium grade MCL strain and Paul Puopolo is out for 4-6 weeks with a badly strained high hamstring.  It was feared that both Cyril and Poppy would have tears but that wasn't that case, thankfully. Some rest, some rehab and strength training and they are back in the game.

It's all coming up roses for he Hawks at the moment.  The media are still biasing toward Hawks failure, which is fine as it helps in this town to fly under the media radar.

The reason Rancho Mirage football star Marques Prior opted to play D-III football instead of D-I

I highly doubt Dumo and crew blew smoke up the kid's butt and told him he could possibly start as a freshman, but hopefully the kid pans out as a good kid and a good player.

I live in Coachella Valley and have watched Marques play and star in a good program the last four years...It would surprise me if he didn't start for any D3 program as a freshman...SJU got a good one.

Any idea why he's being pegged as a defensive back? To me it looks like he could be a game changer on offense?

According to the article he's attracted to the D because there are three good players at QB and 3/4's of the starting deep backs graduated meaning there is a big opportunity there. He started on every team in HS so there you go.

Good get by Dumo & Crew.
I could see a few reps with the O in certain situations, especially with the new era O coming in 2018 and beyond.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

You reminds me, betting pool now open. I have an array of Hawthorn gear (maybe even some Geelong membership gear donated by #3) that I'll ship to the winner.  Similar to when Fasching was apponted head coach this betting pool is for picking the date that the new OC will be announced.  All we know at this point is that Fasching himself will be leading the offense during spring practice and that an OC will be appointed "later this spring."

The rules are:

@ The competition is open to anyone who wants to guess, even Tommies.
@ Pick a date. (Dates will be in the central time zone, no global gamesmanship)
@ If your date passes then you can pick another date but it must be at least seven days later than your previous date picked.
@ Post your pick here and send me a PM in case I missed the post on the boards.
@ If two people pick the same date then the earliest time stamp gets the date and the later person must re-pick.
@ If I make a mistake then I'll do my best to fix it fairly but all judgements are final.

Happy picking, pickers.

What we know of the plans for filling the position.

There is enough playmakers on offense for the future where the bigger need is in the defensive backfield, could use some more athletes back there. Kid also had impressive defensive stats. Given the depth at Saftey and Corner the kid could def get some playing time next year.

Wondered the same thing. My guess would be starting out as a freshman they want him to concentrate on one position and he was told there was a need with DB's. As he grows within program l would guess he would see time as WO but definitely can play multiple positions and be productive. If SJU has a need at punt returner he will be your guy. His big challenge coming from the California desert will be can he make through his first winter in Minnesota. He reminds us that follow high school ball out here of guy a few years back that went to Alta Loma High by the name of Eric Weddle...wonder what happened with that guy ?
