I could see a few reps with the O in certain situations, especially with the new era O coming in 2018 and beyond.

You reminds me, betting pool now open. I have an array of Hawthorn gear (maybe even some Geelong membership gear donated by #3) that I'll ship to the winner.  Similar to when Fasching was apponted head coach this betting pool is for picking the date that the new OC will be announced.  All we know at this point is that Fasching himself will be leading the offense during spring practice and that an OC will be appointed "later this spring."

The rules are:

@ The competition is open to anyone who wants to guess, even Tommies.
@ Pick a date. (Dates will be in the central time zone, no global gamesmanship)
@ If your date passes then you can pick another date but it must be at least seven days later than your previous date picked.
@ Post your pick here and send me a PM in case I missed the post on the boards.
@ If two people pick the same date then the earliest time stamp gets the date and the later person must re-pick.
@ If I make a mistake then I'll do my best to fix it fairly but all judgements are final.

In an odd twist of events, our northernmost MIAC outpost, Concordia, is the most coveted location to get actual MIAC baseball games in the next couple weeks. They have dry fields and warm weather, which will bring almost half the conference up there to play games over the weekend.

I have yet to hear anything, but surely they'll have a new HC by the time spring ball rolls around.  If not maybe the coaches still on staff will run a technique heavy spring ball?  Instead of making bets on when SJU announces their new coordinator we should be making bets on when Carleton announces their new coach.

I have a few friends that are still coaching and have heard a few things about it.  Apparently they have been turned down by at least one of the candidates that was a finalist.  Sounded like it's some tough circumstances.  Can't be helping recruiting.

These are WIAC coaches?  So does that mean the finalist was a WIAC coach?  Not totally shocking as I'm sure the administration would like someone familiar with the MIAC and the Midwest, but contradicts the idea I had that they would bring in a NESCAC/MIT/UChicago coach

Today Hawthorn faces and old fields in North Melbourne. We've had the wood on them for a number of years but it's always a niggling, dirty match full of pinches and punches at the bottom of a pile.  Both sides give as good as they get. Hopefully it's a Hawthorn victory without any injuries (but a lot of sore bodies).
