I don't even need to look at my tie rack to give the answer. 73.

QUESTION: Roughly how many neckties do you own?

We're doing a little spring cleaning around the house. We just went through our closets, and my wife thinks it's unusual (in her words, it's "totally crazy") that I own 54 neckties. Her father was in the military and rarely wore ties. I've tried to reassure her that most men have more than a few neckties in various colors and patterns, especially if they have to wear one everyday.
I have a dozen ties as well.

On another note, about 5 years ago, I asked my wife how many pairs of black shoes does one woman actually need? Evidently 37 pairs was not enough because she has increased that number by approximately  a dozen. BTW, I don't count her shoes anymore, I don't ask and I am advising all of you not to ask your wives about shoes or handbags.  :-X
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Boring, sloppy game but the Hawks came away 35 point victors, 89 - 54.  Unless the team suddenly starts to click then i think they'll be one of the last teams to make the post season and will go out early.  An improvement on last year but you like your side to be more threatening.

EDIT: The problem with my Hawthorn blinders on is that I can't see if they are average, so they play average and make opponents look better, or if the opposition is still getting up for every game like they did during the recent red hot period for the Hawks (4 consecutive Grand Finals with three consecutive victories).  I really want to believe that old habits die hard and that opposition teams are still getting geared up and bringing their best stuff every week against the Hawks, but I'm pretty sure the reality is that the Hawks have fallen back into the pack where every win is a close run dog fight.  Bummer.

I'd guess I have about 30 ties or so. Many of which I don't wear anymore, but haven't gotten rid of.

It's been an interesting NFL draft according to the headlines I've seen. A giant of an Aussie who has never taken a snap in his life has been picked as a project to become an offensive tackle. He didn't have the cardio capacity to make a rugby league first team being a mountain of a man but with huge athletic talent.  It will be a challenging journey, I reckon.

And I also just saw that someone drafted the first one-handed man. I don't know which position, but I assume the line.  It would be too big of a competitive disadvantage, I would guess, for a one-handed man to play a position where he would be reasonably expected to compete to catch the ball.

Anyways, interesting draft. I think the one-handed player who grew up with the game has a better chance of making a squad.

Shaquem Griffin, a linebacker from Central Florida. His combine numbers were pretty good: 4.38 and 4.58 in the 40 (although there were some questions about the first one) and 20 reps at 225 in the bench press. He was very well-regarded as a college player, but of course the NFL is a whole different level of competition and the one-handedness may prove to be more of an issue. At the least he could be a good addition on special teams.

I'm retired.  I need just one ... for my funeral.
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

Ha!  I walk into the house tonight having traveled from the airport after a couple tiring days in Sydney, sit down on the couch, put my feet up and flick on the TV.  And what's on?  The Smog Strangler.  I almost broke my leg jumping up to grab the phone and take a quick pic.

Time for a funny ad that has nothing to do with the product being sold?  This one for a brand of iced coffee.

QUESTION: Roughly how many neckties do you own?

I don't mind wearing a tie in the right circumstances, but my line of work is pretty relaxed, so I don't wear a tie often.  I got rid of a few last year, and I bought a few this year as I was on the job market, but my tie number is right around 6.

A tradition unrivaled...

21 mostly from when I wore one every day. Only wear a favorite few for weddings, funerals, sometimes church any more.  :)

23 ties and I don't even wear them anymore outside of weddings, funerals and an occasional fundraiser. Thanks Oz, down to an even dozen now, as I have trashed the ones with stains on them!
