SJU game notes are out: https://www.gojohnnies.com/documents/2018/8/29//090118_UWStout_GameNotes.pdf?id=1325

Interesting fact I found in the game notes.  Every weekend 1 in 22 North Dakotans (including every man, woman and child in the state) can be found cheering in either the ND or NDSU stadiums.  That's football crazy.

Also, with a very good season Gary Fasching will reach second on the wins list for Johnnie coaches.  14 down, one to go.

I, for one, will not be paying for the video, may tune them out altogether-this is an officious money grab.

I don't have a problem with it. As much as I'd like to get up to C'ville for every home game it's just not realistic. $10 a game or $45 for the season which includes on demand viewing. A trip up to SJU for a game easily costs $50-100 and takes up 6 or more hours of my day. I realize watching online is in no way comparable to actually being there.

Here is the issue-it was free since the beginning, so why make people pay-is there going to be a tremendous upgrade? That is what I don't understand.

Particularly in relation to what's offered by other MIAC teams. UST offers free streaming with probably the highest production value in the MIAC. WCCO broadcasts their games throughout the region for free. A lot of alumni based outside the Twin Cities watch/listen to these games. I've heard from a number of folks in DC that the games make them feel closer to the UST community, which results in more giving. It seems like a shortsighted move on SJ2's part...

Whether or not that is true, I do agree with SJURube -- it will mean no casual fans and no non-SJU (or opponent) Division III football fans will be watching the games.

Since I'll have a difficult time making it over to UST for the game Saturday (my friends had the nerve to baptize their child, my godson, on Saturday morning), I would have caught part of SJU-Stout online if not for the cost.
Maybe it'll be like the actual ticket offices and you can get in after halftime for free.

What's $10 bones to a high rolling Tommie Alum????

I might be high rolling, but I use my high rolling status to support 4 kids and I'm not going to drop $10 bones to watch 15 minutes of St John's vs Stout.

Always found it odd when people complained there wasn't sellout for UND games. I mean, 2% of the entire state's population is here to watch UND play Sacramento State. Pretty good IMO.

That's where I'm at (more like medium-rolling), but I'm not paying money to watch a D3 game online, even if it's BU.  Hoping that A - this isn't a trend for the MIAC, and B - that SJU doesn't stick with this long term.

I've often checked into SJU games online, simply because they're good, and interesting to watch, (same as UST), especially when there's a quality opponent.

Won't give them a dime for streaming.

I can tell that we are ready for the season because I've already gotten two -k.
I'm not normally one to track it, but I was pretty proud of my +/- spread that I had gotten to (apparently from posting occasionally in unRev-like style on other boards).

Let the season commence! I'm counting on getting my karma back to even by the time the Tommies DOUBLE MONKEY STOMP the Johnnies this year.

All karma is good karma. No karma means you're milquetoast, and that's nothing to be in life.

You really ought to make this your new signature quote. If everyone could read you with that context in mind (and have a few beers with you), you might not get the -k and hatred you do. But then I guess you'd have to ramp up the rhetoric another level to get a satisfying reaction, so maybe not.

;D :o ;)

Done. Also, maybe "hatred" is a bit strong.
