I don't know what it is called as the largest winning margin is well beyond a stomp. Fitzroy (since moved to Brisbane) beat Melbourne in 1979 by 190 points, 238 to 48.  That's a nonuple monkey stomp.  When you have to look up what a nine-tuple is called then you're in clearly uncharted territory.

(That must have been the most boring game of anything ever played)

A couple of recommendations for Minnesota made APA/ IPAs
1. Devil's Kettle from Voyageur Brewing Company in Grand Marais.
2.17-7 an America Pale Ale from Castle Danger Brewing in Two Harbors.

Give them a try next time you are at your local Sprits Store.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

The shoes disappeared sometime between August 27 and 28 in 2005 from the Judy Garland Museum in the actress' hometown of Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

So, I guess it's your choice to clutch your pearls watching a NASCAR event

Your reply didn't need this.

Yes I like to watch motor sports. I go to the local dirt track most Friday nights and I sponsor a couple local racers. I enjoy the Cup series of NASCAR and will occasionally watch drag racing even though I think those people are nuts.

I enjoy a good rendition of our National Anthem and I thank the Lord for this country.

Sorry Oz, I'm against politics on here too. Back to normal programming.

Trouble in paradise alert.

There are an infinite number of places to argue politics to no end on the internets. Let's continue to keep this place clean from that.

God save the Queen.

Some forget we are limited to beer, football, beer, fishing, beer, (occasionally hockey or wrestling), and beer.  :)

Oz can post about Aussie Rules. BTW: can you get a Monkey Stomp in Aussie Rules?   ;D

+K to both OZ and 57, Thanks to you John-Boys for refocusing my Tommie amigos! Tip-of-hat to you both!

It's a guy with a vastly different American experience than you or I quietly and respectfully taking a knee to protest systematic racial oppression and police brutality (as one does when genuflecting: to lower one's body briefly by bending one knee to the ground, typically in worship or as a sign of respect).  Not exactly like they're burning the American flag at the 50 yard line.

Of course, since I'm predominantly libertarian I'm for the 1st amendment, the free market and minding your own business. So, I guess it's your choice to clutch your pearls watching a NASCAR event that features 100 so confederate flags attached to people's fifth wheels parked on the infield with such cool "patriotic" (read: treasonous) American phrases such as "The South will Rise Again." Anyway, how 'bout that Brad Keselowski!

So the part that really gets me is the players are employees of the different teams (let's not get into the whole white billionaires employing black millionaires) and there is an employee handbook/ code of conduct for every company I've ever worked for. So, let's just say these protesting players worked for Target and were a retail associate. As a retail associate, there is a dress code : red polo shirt & tan khaki slacks. I've guessing if a Target retail associate showed up for work in a royal blue polo & white slacks that they would be sent home and told not to return until they wore the approved attire.

This year the NFL agreed that the players who had an objection with the playing of the National Anthem were to stay inside the locker room. Is it so hard to follow direction? Especially when the vast majority of pro athletes struggle to adjust to "normal life, with a normal job" after their playing days are over. Wouldn't it make more sense to follow directions, collect the $$millions$$ for the 3-7 years they are in the league and then protest away.

That's all I'm saying.....

I'm a big fan of a straight forward National Anthem.  Here's my all-time favorite: the USF Trombone Choir.

Straight down the middle. No hook. No fuss. My inner Ron Swanson approves its brevity and beauty.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

Sorry guys, no Tommie game this week and I'm on this board until at least November. So hold your loved ones tight, here comes some POLITICKIN:

Burk v. Augusta-Richmond County
Lamar Advertising Co. v. City of Douglasville
Beckerman v. City of Tupelo, MS

The NFL benefits from public airwaves, publicly financed stadiums, tax abatements, all to line their...ahem..."owners" pockets. Seems to me some of you are soiling the flag you're wrapping yourselves in. Of course, if Kavannaugh gets confirmed we'll probably be forced into flag respectin' like all the greatest countries in history.

Not to worry though, there's plenty of predominantly black-guy free football to watch in the MIAC. Just remember to bring your fainting pillow for the Augsburg game. https://www.tommiemedia.com/news/augsburg-football-players-kneel-during-anthem-in-protest/

In other amendment news: got my first Minnesota deer tag the other day. Pretty excited. Will probably drink some beer up there. Schlitzes, Hamm's, the works really, full spread.

Seems to me that respect is an individual state of mind and you’re doing a pretty good job of demonstrating that you aren’t good at it. Particularly toward your fellow posters here who are interested in keeping this forum entertaining.  I guess respect only happens when you feel charitable enough to have some, eh?  I mean, what do we deserve here?

Also, I suggest you look up libertarianism again. I suspect its not what you think it is. You’re more of a technocrat authoritarian it looks to me.
