Anyone notice how every new hurricane is the worst one ever?  This one is going to wash away Florida I suspect.  The last one almost sunk Hawaii, right?  Hawaii is gone now, isn't it?

Surely they taught the classics at UST.

Of course, but jokes about your proclivity for nudes makes for better banter...

Regardless of what one might think of the choices of whom UST sees as peers, defining peer institutions extends beyond athletic prowess or athletic affiliation.
So, who are UST peers? Other MICA institutions or the other institutions the Rev. has listed?

If an institution has revenue generating D1 athletics and gigantic research departments like a Medical School or PhD engineering programs I struggle seeing them as a peer. For that reason I cant see Creighton or Marquette as a peer. It is true that Dr. Sullivan has been tasked with taking UST to the next level. What that means as it relates to academic commitments and athletic development is to be determined? Maybe that is the direction we are heading? There aren't a ton of good comparables for UST and maybe thats a bad sign. A lot of the Catholic institutions cited are large Jesuit Univeristies with D1 athletics and School's of Medicine, Dentistry, and such.

Wash U would be a good example of maintaining a DIII athletic presence, but upping the ante on academics could look like. Not a direct comparison to date, but a good aspirational target.

It wasn't all that long ago that UST was strongly considering a Med School. It has recently been explored by the Trustees at UST but was determined not to be the right time. It was to be a partnership with Healtheast with the campus to be in the Maplewood Facility (that's how serious this was considered) Maybe this is something Dr. Sullivan wants to resurrect?
Could U$T be on the forefront for STD research? I'm sure the undergraduate student body would have a number of students that could be examined in the labs or participate in clinical trials.

Wouldn't the Reverend be wearing something from Vineyard Vines?

Maybe I'm just turning into a cantankerous old man, but it seems like football is becoming softer and softer every year.  It used to be that playing in the weather extremes was one of the unique features of the sport.  Now if it gets in the mid-80's the game is stopped?  And if the wind chill is below 30 then the game is stopped?

Too soft.  Harden up.

What's next, mandatory long sleeves if it's below 40 F?

I do somewhat agree with you however I would bet that the University of Maryland might be singing a different tune these days.
The forecast for Gus Davis in Saint Pedro is 88 degrees. My guess is with the radiant heat of the turf that translates into a temp over the 86.1 Wet Bulb Globe Temperature.

30°F (-1.11°C) and above:
Be aware of the potential for cold injury and notify appropriate personnel of potential.

And what kind of demons are working at the MIAC?  86.1?  What kind of temperature is that?  I tell you what.  It's 30 celsius.
