I actually had to work for a couple of days, but this conversation is up my alley too! and I can't resist!

2012 Toyota Sequoia with a dog crate in the rear, Wire Haired Griffon hunting dog (Named: Gryffindor) Just bought a Stoeger M3500 (Semi-Auto) which is owned by Benelli and uses all Benelli mechanicals. It shoots 3.5in. shells for turkey hunting as well. I use a Winchester Model 88 (308) lever action for deer. Wow quite a few of us have much more in common than just D3 football fans.

Speaking of hunting, I have an extra pair of Barbour Tweed Sporting Breeks that I was going to put up on Ebay. They're new with the tags.  I bought them as a backup pair, but they were never used. Retailed at over $250, but I'd give a heavy Post Patterns Discount. If anyone is interested, let me know. They look very similar to this pair:

I'm a Carhart guy, but if they come with a Elmer Fudd hat I might consider it.

I would have thought you already had a pair. Aren't you on the UST alumni shooting team?

Nope, but I was in the Dakota Flockers duck hunting club.

I actually went to a hunting-themed wedding up in North Dakota once. The day before a bunch of us guys went out to a makeshift range on someone's land. After a few hours of drinking and shooting, some of the guys were loaded and unloading on anything that moved. The next day a few of them were still drunk by the start of the wedding. It didn't help when the groom's family carted out a bar on wheels outside the chapel. I hear this is pretty typical for North Dakota weddings...

What happened to your creepy cat-turning-his-head GIF on your profile?  Has it been gone long?  What prompted you to take it down?  So many questions.

Ha. A couple months ago it was just gone. Not sure if it was something I did in my profile settings or what happened.
The possessed cat watching Japanese TV is no more.  :'(

Yep, I'm old tech when coming to my long arms as well. 30-30 Winchester Model 94 - mine is a "good one", built in 1952 or 1954, can't remember exactly. My 16 gauge pump shotgun is a Montgomery Ward Browning, modified choke, made just after WW2. I've had the shotgun since 1975 and the rifle since 2005. Also have a plinker 22 semi-automatic for knocking down squirrels and woodchucks.

Small world story. I had to give a presentation for work. When I got done, people from the audience started approaching me to ask questions. One of the women looked vaguely familiar, but I meet a lot of people. She asks me, "Did you go to College of St. Benedict?" Sure enough, we actually lived together one summer and she graduated from CSB with me. There was hugging and laughing! I am sure everyone else (who didn't hear our conversation) was impressed with how very friendly I am! ;) ;D

How do I get on that team?  I'd love to shoot some UST alumni.

Never knew that about "sequoia". May I use that in various discussions I have? Interesting. ☠🏈

I'm not a hunter (though I do enjoy shooting trap and pistols) but I am amazed at how consistently fun I find it to go through a bunch of rounds with my ruger 10/22.  Cheap to shoot too!

MiacMan and I have too much in common--we both cart our wire-haired bird dogs around in Sequoias!  :o
