Is there a button to give +k or how do you go about that? As I'm fairly new to posting on this board, I'm still learning the ins & outs. If your "k" is skewed too far to the +/- are there any positive/negative consequences? Not attempting to get docked any "k", but I relate St Thomas at the Division III level to my distaste for Nebraska at the Division I level. I know many Nebraska fans that are phenomenal people & believe it or not, very friendly, but cannot say that I personally know any St Thomas fans so will give the fans the benefit of the doubt that they're actually decent while retaining my dislike of the team! LOL!

Once you get to 200 posts, you'll have the ability to affect other users' karma. You can + (applaud) or - (smite) a person once every 24 hours.

A bunch of negative karma means you may be a pot-stirrer, or you may be a member of a rivalry with lots of posters on the other side. The only person who ever had consequences specifically for his negative karma was TDT -- when his karma went into the quadruple negative digits, his profile was locked for a while because the database was set up for three digits or something.

You can't give +/- K yet. You don't have enough posts. Once you do, the buttons will appear on your profile. The only people who care about +/- K on here are part of the Johnnie Smokefest. Every time SJ2 loses to UST (a common occurrence nowadays), Johnnies take solace in the fact that they can sit around and give each other +K until they lose again next year.

Ha, I asked the same question not long ago. You get the power to give +/- K after you post 200 times. You'll fit right in on the board. Always a fun week!

I can assure you we are all terrible people. I've met a few of the regulars on here and can confirm this.

You'll be able to grant +/- k once you get to 200 posts. No negative repurcussions for good or bad karma. If your karma is bad, it means you probably veered away from the company Johnnie smokefest line, because the Johnnies love to pat themselves on the back and give +k, especially during gamewatch. I guess it makes them feel better about themselves.

Back when SJ2 was a decent team the Johnnie Smokefest owned the board, but that changed when SJ2's play started to slide. After awhile their talk of past glories gets kind of boring, especially when the events happened before current students were even born. It was refreshing when more Tommies joined the board. We look towards the future rather than dwelling on the distant past.

I have but one objection to your comments here.

SJU's is the very definition of decent these days. Second place is very decent. Making the playoffs and losing in the first round embodies "decent."

St Thomas made the national media this morning! Was listening to Rush in the car & he was going off on an engineering professor at St Thomas who wrote an article that appeared in the Guardian essentially blaming people who voted for Republicans for the devastation that hurricane Michael caused. Not even Rush is a fan of the Tommies! He called them obscure & the professor idiotic among other things. LOL!

I don't see any worthwhile further discussion of this that doesn't fall into politics, which don't belong here. If I want politics I will go check out the SCIAC board.

Do they discuss politics on the SCIAC board?  They should learn from our example here.

There have been a lot of... emotionally charged... comments about the Occidental situation and AD.

Much better to stick with insulting the intelligence of your major rival than that.
