you gotta be fricking kidding me...

Texas, huh?  So they ranked MHB first, UMU second, Brockport third, UWW fourth and SJU eighth?  Or perhaps they ranked MHB second and SJU seventh?  That's some high priced crack they were smoking.

Go get 'em Johnnies.  That's cracked.
We all know the NCAA will save as much travel money as possible.

Send UWW to Texas. Same cost.

Send UWW east. Cheaper.

Basically the NCAA said we have one bracket that we have to make a travel mess.  Nice part is if SJU wins two games they get a warmer weather game in Texas.
I agree with this, the pass attack should be aided but in the "Cru stadium it will be real interesting. Then if SJU beats them it's back up north. As has been said, you got to beat them all to be the champs.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

The selection show app is making Stretch seem like cutting edge technology.

Anyone care to elaborate on what's happening?
Bethel is hosting Warburg.

I just wonder how SJU was considered a 7 or 8 team?

hazzben

I figured we'd probably have SNC or Wartburg.

Game on! Should be fun.

Anyone else think St John's was royally screwed? In order to win it all we would potentially have to beat UMHB in the quarterfinals, Whitewater in the semifinals, & Mount Union in the Stagg Bowl. Going back to 2005, those three programs are the only programs to have won the Stagg Bowl. Thoughts?

It will be a tough road for sure, but if the Johnnies run that table UST3 may need to acknowledge the obvious  ;)

I shut off the show after the first bracket was announced, did the clowns even try to justify it?

Don't you mean UMHB, Bethel, & Mount Union?  ;)

I wouldn't want to face those 3 either  ;D

In all seriousness, it's not accurate to say "you have to beat them all" to win the title. You only need to beat 5 teams. So if you get a road like SJU just got, then yes, it's going to be tougher. All 3 are tough, none at home, and just the sheer physical attrition alone of UMHB and then UWW before Mount would be incredibly taxing.

That's a rough path for SJU. But UMHB is probably not loving that they'll have to play the #3 ranked team in the quarter finals as well.

No doubt Bethel received the Better draw than the Johnnies. Bottom line the goal is to win the Championship you have to go through great teams to do it. UMHB cant be thrilled either having to play their conference rival then a very game Berry team just to get to SJU (we will assume SJU takes care of business). I can see a scenario with Bethel sneaking past Whitewater so the J's could possibly host a semi final if all goes well. Speculation aside the J's weren't going to get the benefit of the doubt as their playoff record has been less than stellar the past 4 years. This is a new year and no time like the better to set the tone for seasons to come, however anything less than a highly competitive quarterfinal game will be a significant disappointment.

In order to win it all, you have to beat whoever you play ... WHOEVER!

I concur. I do not see why Bethel is hosting two games and the Johnnies only one. I think the committee got this wrong and they should be swapped. I did not get out my mileage charts, but it seems that Wartburg could travel to Collegeville on a bus, and North Central could come up to Collegeville on a bus and stay within the 500 mile rule. (Yes, I am counting chickens before they hatch, but does anyone really think Wartburg would get by either the Royals or the Johnnies in the first round?)

Looks like the Johnnies become road warriors after just one round and Bethel does after two.

Like the Road Warriors of 2000, Johnnies. Use duffman as your inspiration.  Stag or bust!

I think you've got that backwards, art. BU hosts one and then hits the road to NCC. The Jays host two before they fly to Texas.
