They could wear jeans and cowboy boots and still beat Martin Luther by 50.

I don't know, the official crew from last weekend stopped play about a dozen times for equipment violations.  I think they'd take exception to Wranglers and Stetsons.

A tradition unrivaled...

Didn't say anything about cowboy hats.  ;)

The question on everyone's minds is will the Johnnies wear red or white pants on Saturday?

I reckon red top and white pants is our top outfit.  Save that for the big games.  All red is the worst (made me nervous when they ran out against TM in top to bottom red).  Red pants, white top is passable.  I say we ditch the all red and do white top, red bottom for the first two rounds.  If we make it to three when we play white pants, red top after that.

Science.

Interesting debate topic.

Could SJU's team, wearing Wrangler jeans, Justin boots (with rubber tread soles), stetsons, and chaps, defeat Martin Luther in full pads?

I'd say 33-21 SJU.

This is correct.

Thanks, Pat.  Fingers crossed that Mom and Dad can handle this.

Duff,

Was it Karnas' crew? They are awful, always have been. There's always controversy with his crew. Were they stopping it because the knee pads in the pants were not covering the knees?

Bench, Love the jeans and boots comment, LMAO!

I'm guessing SJU would have difficulty with extra points at first. Which is nothing new. Then would just go for two.

I watched a couple series of ML v Northwestern last night before I went to sleep.  The play a run option with passion. A little chip on their shoulders against NW.  I don't think I saw them attempt a single pass in the two series I watched. Perhaps one.  I think they will struggle against a fast defence.

Their defence was pretty standard.  Not a lot of stunting. I think they'll struggle against the pass-run that SJU offers.

Pretty sure he was the ref a decade ago who made the Bethel Oline put athletic tape all over their knee braces. They were those custom sized, low profile, preventative type braces that teams wear all the time. But he made a big huff about 'exposed edges' and player safety. Nevermind that they are worn by dozens of schools every Saturday without being covered by athletic tape.  ::)

If the Cobbers weren't in the MIAC and you didn't have a version of the triple option to face year in and year out, maybe they give SJU a game for a quarter while they figure it out. As it is, they see a bigger, stronger, faster version out of Concordia. SJU in a Triple Monkey Stomp ... make that a double, since they'll at least shorten the game with all their running plays.

How did I know it was his crew  ::) I have never coached or watched a game that his crew was doing that there wasn't some sort of controversy. This has been going on a long time. Ugh! He did they same thing at the UST/Eau Claire game for the aforementioned  knee pad reason.
