Maybe it's one of those relationships that would never work because you're too similar?

Heck no!  They're Presbies!

Whoa, hey. The guy in Australia and the old retired rat are gonna get butt hurt about this one...how dare you

Thanks, Duff! I have to assume the goal is to regularly compete for national championships!

Perfect playoff football weather expected on Saturday.  A few degrees above freezing, wind chill a couple degrees below freezing and the smallest chance of a tiny dusting of snow.

However, apparently the Iowa conference has slipped even further based on the Bethel beat down last weekend.

Exactly what I was going to say.  They have really had some ups and downs in recent years.

My hunch is they are down a bit.

But UST was giving up 11 yds rushing a game and Wart around 100. Bethel went for over 200 and nearly 400 respectively. I think a big part is how well Bethel is playing up front.

One issue for the game will be without question be what Bethel did, and especially didn't put on film. NCC has the Augsburg, UST, and Wart games. Augsburg and Wart we were pretty vanilla on offense and especially passing. And against UST there are things that we normally run that weren't a part of that game plan. There will be some wrinkles that are typical Bethel plays that NCC hasn't seen on film yet.

... assuming North Central didn't collect a bunch of film on everyone within 500 miles before the playoffs started. I'm not sure how often schools only have just the three games anymore.

Good thing the Luddington Luddites didn't get a Pool C!

A) True, the internet is forever.

B) (To the Royals) BU really held back against UST?  I find that hard to believe. It was a kitchen sink worthy moment.

They found what worked early on and were able to get a lead and hold on to it.

I think the field conditions were a factor in that game. Footing was not good, so that limited what plays Bethel ran. So yeah, I don't think Bethel used all their offense against UST, just like UST couldn't use all their offense (ie. end runs, bubble screens).

Yeah, "we couldn't do everything" is far more believable than "we didn't want to do everything".  The QB did go beast-mode, however, in the mold of the D1 run-pass option craze.  I was pondering what could make BU a real threat with that run-first QB and the new option crazy fad of D1 came to mind.  If those D1 charity cases can learn it easy enough, then surely it will be amongst our bright D3 crew before long.

It is my understanding that now every game is available to every team (the entire season and beyond) Now it's just a matter of who out works who in terms of video preparation.
