We heard from duffman, who was at the game about Whitworth's style of play-so 509 you are dead wrong.
We alumni of SJU can complain when the team doesn't fire on all cylinders-as we are looking for a championship team, not a second round team.

Wrong about what? That Oz johnnie has no idea what was said at the end of the game or at any point in the middle for that matter. Or any individual players intentions? Because he doesn't but ok. Reading comprehension may not be your strong suit but read what I posted, quote it, and tell me what I'm dead wrong about.

And which one of you is complaining about the team? All I've heard are complaints about refs, missed calls, players who might have said mean things, etc.

Lot of thin skin in this board. Maybe some repressed memories...did any of you by chance grow up in Pennsylvania?

Going over to the NWC board for the past few days and todays in-game, I fail to see anything constructive from you, did I perchance miss something?
Everyday is payday in paradise.

It is disgusting that you characterize being offput by your "jokes " about child abuse/sexual exploitation as being thin skinned. The fact that you think this is appropriate is just gross.
High sticking, tripping, slashing, spearing, charging, hooking, fighting, unsportsmanlike conduct, interference, roughing... everything else is just figure skating.  ~Author Unknown

Hi, oldsju67 here.  Former regular poster back in Post Pattern days, and now a long time page lurker... I was at the game today as well, like Duffman, and here's my thoughts.  Whitworth chippyness reminded me of the Simpson playoff game back when I played.  Certainly not like Linfield and the class act their program represents.  Also, if this ref crew was one of the top two from the Iowa conference, I feel bad for the those teams.  Letting them play is one thing, but allowing flagrant holding at the point of attack is something else.  When the defensive linemen need to have their jerseys repositioned on their should pads after most plays, it's pretty obvious that blatant holding is happening.  What was funny is the hold calls all came from line judges.  I was watching a Brinker today and was amazed at how many times his momentum was stopped by their lineman having a fist full of his jersey as they were falling and wouldn't let go.  Pretty sure the umpire forgot to pack his yellow hankey today. I hope for every remaining teams in the fields sake that this is the last game they ref this year.  And while I'm at it, the East region ranking is a crock of doo doo.  That bracket is a disservice to all the rest of the teams in the field of 32 regardless of travel restrictions.
The last shall be first and the  shall be... FIRST AGAIN!!!

So look at the stringer Whitworth's hometown paper found ....

Well that traitor.  Somewhat ironic that Whitworth will have a much better local paper story than SJU.

Did you go to the game, ROR?

Yes.

Enjoyed the Monkey Stop.

Simpson-Ricky Gales? Sju up big at half and Gales runs wild in second half. Sju wins on a pass with time winding down, right?

After reading the MHB fans, an SJU win in Texas next weekend would be just as satisfying as the SJU win over Lintfield in 2002 after they said how David Russell would  run all over us and  Ty Mathews and George Carter would connect for about 5 TD's.  Mathews spent a lot of time on his back that day, as I recall.  In 2000, Hardin Simmons was supposed to be all that and SJU beat them pretty handily.

Chewey,

Play that game again and David Russell would leave a cleat mark on Duff's forehead!

UWW fans have a similar Linfield story from 2005. That game put UWW on the D3 map.

YUP!  And we had a our nose guard pick off a screen pass to seal the win, and then there was a bench clearing brawl to end the game. L I was on the kickoff team that game and after we went ahead at the end I was so pumped up that I wanted to be the first one down so I could layout Gales, who was also returning kicks.  Well be careful what you wish for!  I did get down there first and absolutely launched myself into him and thought I died.  He was so strong I did everything I could to hang on for dear life as he dragged me for about 5 yards before everyone else got there to help get him down.  He was a stud!!!
