The way I understand NCAA policies it was not a neutral site game: http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/ForSIDs/Policies.pdf

I think you are reading it wrong. It specifically states it is a neutral site as follows:

Team A is playing Team B. For results and RPIs, the contest is considered a neutral-site contest for both teams if the site:

Is a venue other than Team A's and Team B's home venue and is hosted and organized by a third party.

Target Field was not the home venue of either team, and it was hosted and organized by the Twins, so yes, it is considered a neutral site.
Read the home game criteria again...the Target Field was counted as a home game for U$T thus by definition cannot be considered a neutral site despite there being 3:1 SJU fans.

Can you quote me the section that says a home game cannot be considered a neutral site? There are separate definitions for what is considered a home game and what is considered a neutral site. And from what I can see, those definitions don't overlap.

Team A is playing Team B. For results and RPIs, the contest is considered a neutral-site contest for both teams if the site:

Since it says it is a neutral-site contest for 'both teams', how could it be since one of the teams has to be the home team? There is no wording that claims a home team can't also be at a neutral site. By your definition, if a home team can not be considered a neutral site, then since every game has one of the teams as the home team then there can't be any neutral sites.

Speaking of Elliott, he & his wife were on an episode of "House Hunters" tonight on HGTV. $1.6 million budget. I couldn't believe the ask for 2 of the 3 homes. Clearly real estate is pricier in Minneapolis than northwest Iowa.

I'll check back for your post about Bethel knocking off UWW.

Bethel 4
UWW 2

And everyone dies at the end except Kilgore, who'll storm around UWW's campus looking for blood like Immortan Joe from Mad Max.

Ha! Yes please.

This is completely off the playoff subject, but what ever happened to Touchdown Tommy  aka Bus Driver

He's still around. Just not posting much. AKA Dirty Ernie. I think there are a couple I've forgotten about.

Would love to see SJU get the W.  Not as much as I'd like to see BU's run continue, but still.  BU at SJU on the 8th would be incredible.

I'll check back for your post about Bethel knocking off UWW.

A week and two big road wins away from this being reality, but man ...

I'd assume it could rival the atmosphere in 2003 when Gags got the record and Kirchoff got the ambulance. That day was small college football Valhalla

Was that the same game we intercepted a pass in front of the SJU bench and they gave Elliot simultaneous possession just because he reached around from behind the defender and had one hand on the ball? I remember it was late in the game and would have sealed the win for Bethel.

Yes. Jeremy Sather got the pick. Elliot jumped on top of him. Official panicked, deer in the headlights and called joint possession. Also the game where we forced a fumble on a pass/tackle in the flat. But ref called it down by contact. I had a great view of both plays and disagreed with both calls.  :o 8-)

Also the game where Elliot went all demigod on us.  :P

The best grudges are old grudges.  Like good wine, they get better with age.

Ha ha! Hazz, you'll take any Bethel prediction you can get, won't you?  ;)  Here's one with no deaths involved:

Bethel 10
UW-W 7
Per Massey Simulation run at 10:33 PM tonight.
(Unfortunately, it was the 10th simulation I ran. UW-W was projected to win the first nine)

D O.C.

QuoteI will be glad to see how UMHB measures up.  There just aren't any teams around the ASC against which to play non-conference games. The ASC teams have one non-conference game.

And UMHB grabbed the bull by the horns after losing to LINFIELD several times by making them their one n-c game, eventually taking them to the woodshed for the WILDCATS 3rd worse loss ever.

TDTommy made an appearance on the NWC board at the end of the season to offer condolences for missing the playoffs.

Maybe the terminology needs to be changed to alternate site home game. Calling it a neutral site doesn't make sense. Neutral carries with it the implication of impartiality.

The Target Field experiment was enough. No more!
I certainly hope that SJU administration realize how they greased tThe palms of UST. UST had to be smiling all the way to the bank. Not having to staff the event & cashing the check from the Twins was pretty clever for UST. I can't see SJU doing that again.

But aren't they doing it again, this time at Alliance Stadium next year? Didn't think SJU had a say in where UST plays their home games.
Leading up to the Target Field game SJU gave access to the Twins to their customer/alumni base. Email blasts about ticket sales etc... I hope that doesn't happen again. As was stated earlier it was approximately 3 to 1 SJU fans. This is what frosted many of the SJU faithful. UST (to their credit) made close to 7 years on campus ticket sales in that one game and most of it came from SJU fans.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I see that UMHB - the Crusaders - have "CRU" on the side of their helmets. I guess they can't get the whole thing on there. Maybe the Johnnies should put something like "John" on their helmets to be similar. ::)

Thanks.  I'm kinda glad it was an outfit like SJU who ended their time in D3.   It was an opportunity for TMU.

As Pat said on the podcast, my fandom is up for grabs with TMU leaving the Division next year.  Played and still love D3 football.  Its a pure game.
