Maybe the spelling of Crusaders is too difficult?!?!

Have you seen their stadium??  Maybe its budget-related due to overruns in the construction costs??

I'd sacrifice 6 letters for that cathedral they used for football contests.

Just took a look at the forecast for Saturday in Whitewater, 41 F and rain, with winds out of the East from 15 to 20 mph.

Belton, TX on the other hand is 74 and sunny, winds out of the West up to 15 mph.

I like Bethel's chances more in the miserable weather, making the game just about all "downhill".

As Pat said on the podcast, my fandom is up for grabs with TMU leaving the Division next year.  Played and still love D3 football.  Its a pure game.

I would have guessed that the MN weather provided to you would have taken SJU out of the running for your fandom, but we'd gladly welcome you aboard!

I was very, very impressed with game day in Collegeville.  Admittedly, it wasn't as well-attended as it should've been but it was pretty awesome stuff to be there.  I did also manage to walk around the halls of Warner Palaestra and near the locker rooms before the game and at half time (Guru was my guide).  I told one of the Mount Union fans on here that he really needs to see a game there.

With how good St Johns football is - it wouldn't be fair for me to join the ranks of Johnnies fans, Pat and I decided on the way back to Minneapolis.  I am a fan, though.

And I'm REALLY excited to see this match up in Belton on Saturday.

Good stuff.

I'll check back for your post about Bethel knocking off UWW.

Bethel 4
UWW 2

And everyone dies at the end except Kilgore, who'll storm around UWW's campus looking for blood like Immortan Joe from Mad Max.

Ha! Yes please.

Ha ha! Hazz, you'll take any Bethel prediction you can get, won't you?  ;)  Here's one with no deaths involved:

Bethel 10
UW-W 7
Per Massey Simulation run at 10:33 PM tonight.
(Unfortunately, it was the 10th simulation I ran. UW-W was projected to win the first nine)

So, you're telling me there's a chance!!

Interesting thing is, I ran the simulation using Bluenote's technology and it said 100% chance of Bethel getting the rare quadruple Stomp Out.  ??? Massey or Blue ... wonder which is more accurate.  8-)

On my work computer so I'm not going to click that Bluenote link, but I always just assumed Bluenote's technology was some mixture of moonshine, everclear, and bottom shelf Romanian vodka.

It's safe for work. Just a pic of the technology involved, not of Bluenote using said technology  8-)

Hazz is a Bethel guy, so he can be trusted, but just in case let me know how it works out.

I dont think there were cost overruns in the construction. The largest donation in the history of the school was made by Drayton Mclane to aid in the construction. Amount has not been disclosed.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Wow, I didn't realize that, it doesn't seem fair. So why wouldn't SJU consider doing the same thing for one of their 'home' games against STU? If it really was that big of a money maker for the school, then why not?

Because there is more to life than money.

"Hey Johnnie Fans please turn to page 37 in your Johnnie Gameday Program...If you have a red stamp, you will get 25% off your new Rhino Deck. All Johnnie Fans support our Rhino Deck sponsorship." If hearing a different version of that 30 times a game ain't pimpin for money, I don't know what is.

The way I understand NCAA policies it was not a neutral site game: http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/ForSIDs/Policies.pdf

I think you are reading it wrong. It specifically states it is a neutral site as follows:

Team A is playing Team B. For results and RPIs, the contest is considered a neutral-site contest for both teams if the site:

Is a venue other than Team A's and Team B's home venue and is hosted and organized by a third party.

Target Field was not the home venue of either team, and it was hosted and organized by the Twins, so yes, it is considered a neutral site.
Read the home game criteria again...the Target Field was counted as a home game for U$T thus by definition cannot be considered a neutral site despite there being 3:1 SJU fans.

Can you quote me the section that says a home game cannot be considered a neutral site? There are separate definitions for what is considered a home game and what is considered a neutral site. And from what I can see, those definitions don't overlap.

Team A is playing Team B. For results and RPIs, the contest is considered a neutral-site contest for both teams if the site:

Since it says it is a neutral-site contest for 'both teams', how could it be since one of the teams has to be the home team? There is no wording that claims a home team can't also be at a neutral site. By your definition, if a home team can not be considered a neutral site, then since every game has one of the teams as the home team then there can't be any neutral sites.

Maybe the terminology needs to be changed to alternate site home game. Calling it a neutral site doesn't make sense. Neutral carries with it the implication of impartiality.

That language makes more sense. Notre Dame has done it a number of times at Soldier Field, in Ireland, Wrigley, etc.

But when they do it it's classy and traditional. When we do it, it's bad and tacky.

Also, I don't understand why the Johnnie fans aren't mad at their own administration for selling out their mailing lists. That's not UST's fault.
