Linnemann had one great season in 2000.

I don't have much to add to this discussion other than my impression of Linnemann is that he was a very smart quarterback. And tough, at least the 1 game I saw him play.

It was a 10-0 Stout conference champion team SJU beat on the road in the first round in 2000 and he was getting hit hard, a lot. Existing rumors linger that he was stealing the defensive signals as they were being relayed in. This game is talked about a bit in "The Sweet Season."

He was the difference in that game in many spectators minds.
