Better a backhanded compliment than a constant stream of snark. :)

Great game, Johnnies.

I was beginning to see Johnnie Magic winning this one.

NO

Real classy UMHB2001, this is the MIAC board for Pete's sake.

I apologize. I wasn't trying to be demeaning. I have nothing but respect for the Johnnies, their fans, and the performance yesterday. I will say, though, that there is no subheading that dictates responses in jest are only allowed on one's personal conference board. See the response from 02 Warhawk. I think my response was tame.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

3 plays... otherwise the Johnnies win if they would have run the ball or not get greedy... WOW I wasn't impressed by UMHB offense,,, Johnnies should have won that game in My humble opinion! They had their chances!!! SAD!   :'(

I think there are a lot of times we fans can point to a number of plays and say, "If only..." But, that is how the game is played.

About the offense. We've been saying for years that the offense gets stagnant in the playoffs. A lot of that is opponent, and the rest is philosophy. I don't agree with it, but that is UMHB's MO.

I, as one SJU fan, was very concerned how the Johnnies would defend Markeith Miller. They held Miller in check but T.J. Joey and Jonel Reed were the damage makers.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

The Tommies must have been waiting for the Johnnie run to end before making the official announcement.

I will have to check back on that article in a few days to be enlightened by the comments. If I ever think the Johnnie smokefest is bad, I go read newspaper website comments for a bit of perspective.

To add more praise onto what the Johnnies accomplished this season. Over their last 9 games, they played 4 unbeaten, ranked opponents (I'm including Bethel who we all know should have been ranked then) the Johnnies are 3 - 1, with their only loss coming to the #2 ranked team by 3 points in their house.

And for you WIAC fans, who I know and love. SJU and UWW have now played three common opponents, and the Johnnies have outperformed the Warhawks in 2 of the three. Next week will tell more of the story.

That's a matter of opinion, not fact. I think a good argument could be made that if the Johnnies had to play Bethel in the weather we had to play them in, they would have gotten beat.

Congrats to Johnnie Football for another historical and entertaining season.

Some crazy good SJU talent that rose to the top and fantastic seniors who are always hard to replace.

It's awesome to ride along, so many good times with family, friends and alumni.

God Bless Coach Gagliardi and his family.

In regards to the Johnnie/Tommie game being held at Allianz, I'm going to make the trek up & am excited that I won't have to step foot on the evil empire's campus!

So you aren't concerned about UST benefiting from the extra money you will be giving to them?  ;)

With as heated as the rivalry is, how good both programs have been,  & with as well as the matchup has been attended, what could be done to prevent it? I suppose St John's could refuse to play at the venue, but don't they benefit to an extent by the exposure the program will receive?

Well, I was almost going to cheer for UWW but since you're on the MIAC boards less than 24 hours after the heartache of that loss I'm going for UMU.  I've never come across a UMU supporter on our boards big noting after the loss, much less big noting against the Johnnies when they didn't even play them.  And don't give me the "but retagent" excuse.  His team just loss.  Yours won.  And yet you still have the small man syndrome.

It doesn't matter which team comes out of your semi next weekend because you're both going to lose to Mount.  Roll Raiders.

Next year can't come soon enough.

Oz

You know I'm a Johnnies fan. Was rooting for you all the way. Put a post on here awhile back pulling for you guys to win. Talked to former players in Alliance before a UMU/SJU game a few years back. They had all graduated and had, in fact, played the previous year against Mount. Really nice, classy guys. But I had been a St. John's fan years before that. Great school, great football program and a tradition that never loses. John wouldn't have it any other way.
So, congrats on a nice season. I think you made the point that next year, everybody better look out for The Johnnies. I know you'll be back. So do you!
And Oz, thanks for rooting for the Raiders. We'll take all the help we can get. Go Johnnies! :o
I'm old! I get mixed up and I forget things! Go Everybody! 🏈 ☠
