Portillos is a great Chicago beef joint-did you get the beef or the Chicago dog, which would be pretty difficult to eat while driving. Portillos is a Christmas tradition here-beef on Christmas Day.

Better topic for me than augers . . . . ;D

Have stopped a couple times at the Woodbury Portillo's on the way back to Madison from the cabin in Stearns county.  Great addition, pretty easy on and off even tho it's pretty busy right there.  I got the Italian sausage sandwich last time and it was much easier to deal with driving than either a hot dog or beef sandwich.

We're getting a Portillo's here in Madison in a few weeks, and I expect to be a regular.

My SIL is from the Chicago area, and her and my BIL have been raving about Portillo's for years.  So, I was excited when it came to Maple Grove last year (thought not nearly as excited as they were  :o).  The location of the MG restaurant is terrible--I have no idea how our city council approved it.  I have eaten there twice, and while it's good, I don't think it's anything special.

A tradition unrivaled...

I did the Italian Sausage with the same logic.

Then they asked me if I wanted peppers and cheese. Well duh.

So I ate it in the parking lot.

I stan for Portillo's and now that it's in my head I'm going to have to talk my wife into visiting the Scottsdale, AZ outpost when we're out there for the holiday.  Italian beef (dipped, as if that's actually a choice).  Cheese fries on the side, obviously.

Can't imagine non-dipped, WW. Who would do that? Need to put those on the schedule when we do the seasonal Md-Minny cabin car shuffle. Generally try to grab a Primanti's on the way through Pittsburgh, but the original DT is better than the suburban franchises.

Back to football for a bit.

While losing both Brinker and Kalina, I was  heartened to see that all 4 LB's who started at least some of the time will be back. There's also a slew of veteran RB's coming back next year, and, though they will have an experienced O Line for the most part, I think they need to step it up a bit.

In all my travels nobody has come close to Philippe's.  :)
Double dipped or sloppy preferred.

Not sure you can really trust someone who doesn't dip, if I'm being honest.

but since Fasching has surpassed Caruso as The stellar coach, he has to be a front runner, no?

In all fairness, both Gary and Steve Johnson surpassed St. Glenn.   :P

This is true, they both have had one year better than Glenn in the last five.  ;D

I've gotta concede this one to the Johns to be consistent with my "what have you done for me lately" philosophy that I use to ignore the Johnnies long history of success and the fact that UST only started it's football program in 2008.

Mr.MIAC

Actually, Caruso is the greatest MIAC coach of all time and one of the best in the history of NCAA football based on winning percentage.

47 F and rain at kickoff for the Stagg Bowl Friday night.

Salem, VA will be 41 and rain, so I guess we can say that it's 6 degrees of improvement?

Exactly! This is why we get to use their old argument. We can also revert to attendance now as well (and our new record). Our Johnnie friends have taught us well! In all seriousness, this thing is going to flip back forth every few years at a minimum as long as these two are coaching. We'll all have to come up with different arguments at some point. We can put Bench in charge of coming up with that litigation. Or, Rev.  ;D
